FML!

It seems one of my problems has solved this problem - by throwing it away. That jack fuck.

I've looked all over hell for it and I can't find it anywhere, and I know exactly where I put it. This would be my second hot plate to just up and disappear, and I know someone at my house is behind both of these.

I wonder what karma's payment plan will be?

That really pisses me off.

wasn't stolen, that'd be bad ass if it were... maybe a chemist around my area, eh?
It was tossed in the garbage along with the other one. Someone in my house (I know who too..) always tosses my shit, accuses me of various things, etc.

I was even accused of having extracted opium crystals (wtf?) when it was sodium acetate...

That's rough.  Time for some locks, or a lock box... or a car with a trunk.

Transistors aren't terribly bad to solder, you just have to go quick.  As for microchips, solder a socket down, then press in the chip.  That's what I've done in the past.

I think this thing is a water distillation set up of some sort, but I can't figure out how the damn thing would work, so does anyone have an idea?
It is clearly missing something since it plugs in, but I don't see how to attach any other items to it that would be heated by it, etc. Also it seems like no matter where you put in the liquid, it ends up going through the entire thing, but I haven't really studied it at all much.

Maybe I can get some useful thing out of it at least?

im pretty sure youre quite correct. to me it looks like a water still. i have an old skool glass water still here, can take some pics. of course the setup is a wee bit different, and i think the one ive got is a fair bit older. still working on getting it working, but if i get it running again, it should pump out 4L of pure water / hour running at 3kW. haha. and it only has one water inlet which simultaneously fills the condenser and evap chamber.  so with regard to yours, from the pic, its either missing the heating chamber?? (possibly going to the glass on the bottom right) any chance of some more pics?

I'd like to see your pics, and I took it apart, and took of parts of it over to another place (working on moving everything there...) and so I can't really provide any more pics..

Oh I see! Thank you very much for that.. This will really help me rig mine up to get it working properly again!
.. not that I really am gonna use it for water distillation... maybe something else.. I dunno
After all a gallon of distilled water is only like 50 cents or so.. and I don't even have much use for that!
