I had a try and could not find it, shame because it looks to be a very good resource.

If you can't find it means it's really hard to find, anyway many thanks for trying :)

There's actually three books in the Chemistry of Functional Groups series with the hydroxyl group in the title:

The chemistry of hydroxyl, ether and peroxide groups was published in 1993 and The Chemistry of ethers, crown ethers, hydroxyl groups and their sulphur analogues parts one and two were published in 1980. Most if not all the books in the Patai series that have become available online have been liberated from the Hathi Trust Digital Library.  Google isn't scanning these books so they can become freely available, they are planning on selling these digital copies of these books for a very pretty penny  ;)  They are undoubtedly trying to determine which of their employees are frustrating their commercial enterprise  ::) There has been a lot of litigation over the Google Books project already  8)

With my pleasure :)

But sorry for the imine one, that's not from Patai series, i placed this book in the same folder with patai's, and worse since this one is only  a part of one book, only pages 489 to 510. Imine has been covered by Amino, Nitroso, Nitro & Related and another that is The Chemistry of Amino Group, so maybe there's no Imine patai book, i have both if you.... Sorry..

I just checked the link and work fine.

@Wizard,
No, that link has been broken so i can't download it to get the pass. But here i found other links;

I has checked those links and works.

@Naf1,
Just realized you create this thread to share your books, i hope you don't mind i placed some links, sorry ;D

Headstrong and all others for that matter, if possible would you all please upload these files to thevespiary by attatching them so that in the future these links never go dead. It would be a ashame that if all the hard work and effort to gather these materials where null and void in a couple of years because 4shared or whatever decided to quit hosting.

I believe it is 200 megabytes per attachment or post - whichever comes first...
However, if it becomes an issue and bigger sizes are needed to post certain documents it can be adjusted to be larger.

OMG....
ReUp and i have checked it, no mistake;
http://www.4shared.com/file/rDeY29Lx/Chemistry_Of_Functional_Groups.html

@Sedit & Vesp,
I would like to do that, but are you sure it's not against the law (copyright)? Most sites don't dare to serve copyrighted items, they stating that they never give any link, all posted by person/member.
But i'm not a really know about the law, if you think never mind, just tell me in which place i should upload files, library, a thread or...., and i'll start to upload. :)

I think better if big pdf file is converted to djvu before upload it, will keep the space and reduce the upload time.

I think there is some law or something that makes it ok to upload files to forums or something.

... anyways yeah its fine.
I make backups of the files weekly and forum (text) backups daily and it is in the reference section - you have to have at least 10 posts to view it so it isn't being flooded with unwanted eyes...

I have a few hundred if not a few thousand e-books on chemistry(drug related and not.  40 GB total).  As I'm sure some members may know you can use the advanced search function with pdf's to search all of them at once for key words, chemicals and phrases (this was my alternative since I can't access scifinder).

I'll try to consolidate and get a list of everything I have deleting duplicates.  Perhaps I should make a torrent for everyone?  or is there a better way to share my resources?

I would say make a list of them - and than as people want a certain book either upload it, or use rapidshare. It is likely I have a lot of the 40GB you are talking about.

I would be still very interested in a torrent as well if you feel like uploading that much.

I think we should get a torrent or "frostwire" type thing going on - since that will make getting lots of useful files a lot less demanding on our current resources.
