capronic acid = n-hexanoic acid: Friedel-Crafts with toluene (polyphosphoric acid?), followed by bromination and swap bromo with pyrrolidine: MPPH; 1-(4-methylphenyl)-2-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)-hexan-1-one

ethanolamine: possible demethylation of N,N,N-trimethyltryptammonium salt --> DMT


propionic, butyric, etc... with some imagination you'll come up with something Smile

or even better: indole + ethanolamine --> tryptamine

ethanolamine + HCHO + NaBH4 --> N,N-dimethylethanolamine
tryptamine + N,N-dimethylethanolamine --> DMT

just play with the reaction conditions and you will see it works Smile
