.......would love to get his filthy hands on a Buchnar funnel...........
Take a HDPE or PP yogurt, cottage cheese container and punch or melt some holes in the bottom then attach to a funnel with a suitable sealant or teflon tape made into a push in gasket. These are a little flimsy but work OK if you need something that takes full negative pressure then get a rubbermaid PP shallow container as these are quite heavy and have snap lids (glue struts on top if needed) for drying under vacuum
Or just take a plastic bucket like the ones they ship chems in and use as a table top bucher. Easy, just put a perforated plate in and a hose on the bottom.

My post disappeared on the internet so I will just say that if you need a buchner then punch some holes in a plastic heavy container (PP) and attach to a normal funnel such as shown above. Not rocket science this.
Also better than tissue paper for filter plugs used with strong acid or base is the covers of diapers made of 100% polypropylene. Don't laugh too hard. I read in Filter Web (textile industry publication) that in the 1960's the first use of PP as a filter fabric was when diaper makers had overruns of the cover material, they sold it off cheap for use as filter material. The ones with Winnie the Pooh are 100% as are most others (maybe all) also the inner liner.
Now Loki I won't make a pictorial on how to dissect a baby diaper as I'm sure you will figure it out. Does work great though and has a soft light texture similar to facial tissue.
BTW while you're at it save the polymethacrylate beads/pulpl it absorbs 500 times it's weight off water and makes great gel cold paks.
