Mescaline Extraction Questions

DrugPhreak is going to have a Mescaline dream soon (San Pedro is drying   ). They will be following this procedure:

. DrugPhreak is wondering a few things though. DrugPhreak read thru the extraction procedure on Rhodium's site and it included a defatting step. DrugPhreak understands the importance of defatting plant material prior to extraction of alkaloids, but would defatting the cactus material like they defat coca leaves work well?

DrugPhreak was going to let the cactus dry and powder it. Then put it in a large glass tube with filter paper and a stainless steel screen at the bottom. Pour petroleum ether thru the tube a few times and let the powder dry. Should that work ok? DrugPhreak can get petroleum ether, but what would be the closest thing to it that is OTC? Mineral spirits? Naphtha? Wouldn't using alcohol in the pressure cooker be better then water as Mescaline is soluble in it and only moderately soluble in water? How many times do you think a person would have to repeat the boiling process if it was done in alcohol? The problem is that once the alkaloids are in alcohol what solvents could be used to pull the freebase into them? What does adding NaOH to EtOH produce? How soluble is Mescaline is boiling water? I guess it would be best to stick with the water extraction huh?

Would it be ok to substitute ice cold Everclear (190 proof) or some 151 for the ether in this procedure? DrugPhreak can also get ether but really doesn't want to do so. Starting fluid may be used, but is mescaline sulfate soluble in n-hexane? Also, would using H2SO4 drain cleaner be ok to create the sulfate salt? DrugPhreak will probably get some lab grade H2SO4 for this procedure though.

thank you for clearing that up... i thought it was titled san pedro extract and couldnt understand why it said dmt. so i guess it didnt help much, sorry. what you proposed didnt sound too shaby, btw. would probably leave some decent product after rextalization.

I've attempted twice with no luck, even though I confirmed mescaline present.

My initial thoughts on what went wrong was I had my stuff too concentrated while boiling it down.

Don't work with more than 500 mL at a time unless you have serious equipment, but you should approach this as a fairly difficult extraction - harder than mimosa hostilis.

Heat whole cactus in an oven on lowest setting for an extended period, in side a pot.
This causes the cactus to experience stress and produce more alkaloids, if you can do this for 24 hours, good.

Then chop off the outer layer, the inner core has nothing.

Chop / blend / freeze / thaw / boil (or boil in a pressure cooker).

Extract mescaline with pH 2-4 water (HCl)
Do this 3 times, combine water

Basify with NaOH (lye) until black - pH >11

Extract with either: Ether, ethyl acetate, naptha (not the best), xylene, toluene

Then evaporate (or add acid for the salt, but you'll get a shit load of salts that aren't mescaline.)

fuck defatting S.P fuck S.P in genreal for this tech  what a waste of time in some of those fats are the goods personally iam going to try my luck with some other tricho's next time seriously s.p salt was averagely shite in my mind even those it was nicely cleaned..
