Iodine is dark, either dark red or grey
If they are white I don't think they are iodine at all. I could be wrong but I don't think any iodine salts are white either.

Iodine salts are mostly white,iodine compounds do not resemble iodine.If that was the case NaCl should be green and NaBr dark brown but both are white
