I buyed a Fertilizer bag.The composition is:
20 %N (11% Ammoniumnitrat 9% N)
6 % P2O5 (Water soluble ammoniumcitrat 4 % P2O5
3 % S
11 % K2O
2 % MgO
Can I obtain over distillation HNO3 after filtration and reaction with H2so4 or there is to many contaminant?
The mixture is composed of white and brown "rocks".Does anyone knows wich rock contain the 11% Ammoniumnitrat?

Osmium

This way too impure to be used as anything but fertilizer.
The NH4NO3 is colourless/white.

pablos

After fractional distillation of the HNO3 too?
Thanks

Osmium

The problem is that there is so much inert gunk in it that you will have problems distilling any HNO3 out of it at all.

Thanks Osmium , it´s rigth. I had so many hopes with this gunk. I have succesful sintehthized Pmma, It´s taste good but boring. I have now a good source for piperonal but I can´t find anywhere nitroethane. The only possible synthesis for my is from Hno3 or from it´s salts but I cannot find a
profitable source. :(

Osmium

You cannot make nitroethane out of HNO3 easily.

https://www.thevespiary.org/rhodium/Rhodium/

has nitroethane syntheses.
