does anybody know approximately how much water there is in average w****rt acetone??? SWIM forgot to grab a drying agent and would like to wash a few grams of a water soluble substane without too much loss.   the substance is cheap, so some loss is acceptable

Rhodium

1-2% is common in hardware store acetone.

abolt

Swim dries his store bought acetone at the ratio of about 50 grams (oven-dried) MGSO4 to the litre.
This may be overkill but WTF acetone is cheap and readily available.

thank you :)

much less h2o than i was expecting,  worked out good!!

ZeroSynth

Brand name (Starts with K ends with Strip) picked up at local *mart claims on package to bee 100% pure. I would assume this means no water. Should this not be trusted?

carboxyl

I wouldn't expect any anhydrous reagents out of a store like that. It's best to dry first.
