Why is swim having such a hard time finding this stuff? Fischer doesnt seem to even carry it! WTF? thought this was some rather common stuff... isnt it an herbicide?(aerocyanate or something)

Is the ultra easy trans-4-mar synth popular now and people dont/wont sell it?

Rhodium

Potassium Cyanate is found at most chem suppliers. The Fischer catalog no. is P/4520/53 and it's CAS# [590-28-3] (as an aid in your search).

Out of cyanuric acid or urea and baking soda. Use the search engine.

Luckily I have these bookmarked.

(DRIVEN: "NaOCN from urea and sodium carbonate", Methods Discourse)
has most of the links to procedurals for NaOCN, while

(Bandil: "trans-4-MAR synth w/o cyanogenbromide writeup!", Methods Discourse)
is the famous 4-MAR thread.

Also, if he uses the google search engine, especially for "homemade cyanide", he should be able to find, as it the NaCN synth makes NaOCN first, then reduces it with charcoal carbon.

Whatever is wrong with the search engine?
