help! on current cat rxn

swim is doing a cat synth. while doing STE, had an 'incident' and had to use an A/B/C fire extinguisher. filtered multiple times, continued as usual. all seemed well, but while evaporating dh2o/hcl sol., a blueish tint is appearing in one side of beaker. any ideas? never seen this before. its a very mild tint but.....

if you used kM04 and CuSO4*5H2O to oxidize your ephedrine this blueish tint might be extra CuS04*5H2O... just dependes on your methode.. more info maybe??

used chromium  dioxide w/.good, clean chems. never seen this before. only deviation is A/B/C fire extinguisher during STE, then filtered and rinsed many times. has very blue color as semi-liquid, pure whit as solid. ready for acetone wash/crystallization

washed in cold acetone, and filtered several times. wash held blue color, crystals white as usual after drying. burn on aluminum foil shows quick melting, no ash, minor yellowish discoloration left on foil. odd burning hair smell, but otherwise appears normal. good yield also.
