How is it you made this? Sounds like there could have been some other bacterial crap growing in it as well.. but perhaps now?

i don't know how much pectin is in orange juice, I don't think they contain as much as apples, etc but I could totally be wrong. The fruit filled candies might have a ton of pectin though - but eh, I doubt even enough to make enough methanol to cause a noticeable effect.

well, the few times ive been in county we made our own liquor beverages...

its called buck. at least that is what we call it here in florida.

buck is simple to make, but a time consuming process. there are several ways to make it and recipes vary, but ill outline a method ive used...

supplies:
1 pillow
1 string
fruit parts and pieces (orange peels, apple cores, banana peels, grapes)
water
sugar packets
1 piece of bread
1 (preferably clean) sock

there are substitutions. if you cannot get fruit pieces, then you must get into the kitchen or get a trustee to sneak you a can of juice concentrate like grape juice or orange juice. if you can get the concentrate this will also prevent you from having to use sugar.

if you cannot get sugar, you can also use candies. red hots, atomic fireballs, peppermints, jolly ranchers, or lemonheads will all work well.

if bread is a problem, then you can use any kind of bread that contains yeast. doughnuts will work, as will dinner rolls or honey buns.

you can collect sugar on the morning where they serve corn flakes. its hard to get someones sugar packet, but if you ask nicely and trade some hydrox from your bomb then they might give you one of the packets. save them till you have about 30... it should take you a week. if you go out for work, grab a few packs at the coffee station before they ship you out...

first thing is to pull the thread out of the end of your pillow. most jail pillows are that vinyl shit, and they have a fairly water tight stitching. remove the end and take out the fiber fill. now, flip the pillow shell inside out. stuff the fiber fill in your pillow case so you dont get busted and so you have something to sleep on.

take your pillow shell and clean it out well. your gonna drink this shit later, so keep it clean. in the pillow shell, place your fruit peels and pieces. if your using the concentrate, then pour the contents of the can in melted. place your sugar in the shell also...

now add enough water to cover the fruit parts 2 times. you should add enough water to fill about 8 of the shitty little styrofoam cups.

now, tear the bread product into little tiny parts. they should be like little pieces you would go brim fishing with. it doesnt take more than 1 piece, but no more than 2. it will make a cloudy mess if you use to much or dont ball the pieces up well.

now twist the pillow shell up. using the string, tie a know that will prevent gasses from escaping. this pillow should be able to be concealed under the shirt and in the waistband. you will need to keep it on you for a good 8 hours a day, as your body heat is what keeps the yeast going.

you will notice that the bag will fill up with gasses while your wearing it. when you do feel it getting full, untie the string and 'burp' the bag. you may have to do this 2 or 3 times a day.

on the 3rd day, you should bee done if youve kept the bag warm enough. what you want to do now is to use that clean sock to fashion a filter. roll the top down if its a crew sock, if its the short kind its fine as is. carefully decant some of the liquid into the sock that is perched over a cup. slowly fill the cup up. dont forget to wring it out over the cup so you dont waste any.

drink and enjoy as you get drunk, or sell cups for honeybuns or cigarettes. the going rate is $5 a cup or 3 honeybuns.

and thats how we make buck. ;)

Swim will stick to his 30L plastic fermenters and frozen hops. That pillow liquor sounds deeelicious.
