Agreed. And give birth to a HIV-riddled 3rd-world little chimp baby. The one he married already shat a couple of third-world turds out, his turn now.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BTJunkie

It’s been a big year for torrents, file sharing and censorship and after Fileserve and Filesonic voluntarily stopped the ability for users to continue using the site for file sharing, btjunkie.org have literally just shut their site down.

BTjunkie’s founder has told popular bittorrent site TorrentFreak that “the legal actions against other file-sharing sites such as MegaUpload and The Pirate Bay played an important role in making the difficult decision. Witnessing all the trouble colleagues got into was cause for a lot of worry and stress, and those will now belong to the past.”

BTJunkie was the fifth largest torrenting site on the net, but sites like Mininova and TorrentSpy were also pretty damn huge and their shutdowns or “re-born again but legal” never phased the piracy industry. This is what the policy making fat cats want, so let’s not give it to them!

What will happen is this, private sites and networks, invitation ONLY, greater anonymity & countermeasures. I know of a private LAN, with a total of 16 TB of storage (8 x 2TB hard drives) in 2 desktop PCs. It's NOT ACCESSIBLE to the Internet, invitation ONLY with either USB thumb drive(s), or USB hard drive(s), to copy and share.

So, some of you may want to build this? http://hacknmod.com/hack/how-to-create-your-own-12-7tb-hard-drive/  ;)

Freenet... and things like Classic Open Net... some sort of Freenet variant will be the future of file sharing, I bet!

the question is, "where is this all going to stop?"  as it is, the words "eroding and freedom" come to mind!

aside from the "stopping piracy" which is a VERY abstract thing to do, imo like "stopping drugs"

and as with drugs, "they" arbitrarily decide "what" constitutes piracy and what doesn't,and who is a 'pirate' and who's not :o

the application of the CURRENT laws is clearly bad enough with people going to jail for providing what is effectively a 'neutral' service . . . as the service provider doesn't censor content, and should they? should they have to?

the BIG problem with SOPA,PIPA,ACTA  are that they are "retroactive" which means the law is 'made' today, BUT applies to activities in the past!

No wonder btjunkie got out while the going was good, so to speak!

the problem is, even though servers may be in a data neutral country, with no filesharing restrictions
living somewhere like the US it seems ANYONE with their fingers in the pie can get into some pretty serious trouble.

i read someone say "I can get a longer prison sentence for hacking MJ's website, than I would for killing him!"

things are getting kinda crazy, shit soon the only place you'll be able to "share" anything is on facebook :o

Copyright lawsuit targets owners of non-secure wireless networks.

A federal lawsuit filed in Massachusetts could test the question of whether individuals who leave their wireless networks unsecured can be held liable if someone uses the network to illegally download copyrighted content.

Failure to lock your front door like a bank vault should make you fully accountable for all criminal charges when a crazed thief busts in, steals your guns, and shoots you and your wife. Throw away the key... and the bones!

yeah it's absurd, in fact its so far past absurd as to be beyond description--- although imo the patriot act fucked it for the states

and when you consider ALL the ridiculous laws around,

although the US isn't the only place with them, it's the most likely titleholder ::)

Here's a few crazy ones I saw on reddit and just HAD to share :)

I particularly like #6  ;D and #8 shows a touch of common sense even :o

5. ANY position other than the 'missionary' position is illegal in Washington

6.In Connorsville Wisconsin, it is illegal for a man to discharge a gun when his female partner is having an orgasm

7. In Harrisburg Pennsylvania, its illegal to have sex with a truck driver in a toll booth.

8. Having sexual relations with a porcupine is illegal in Florida.

In yet another episode in Hollywood’s year-long legal battle with one of the world’s biggest cyberlocker services, the MPAA has now drawn Google into the dispute. The MPAA says that Google holds valuable information on Hotfile and should produce it, but the search giant is refusing without the file-hoster’s consent. Hotfile says ‘no’ on the basis that the deadline for discovery expired last year
In February 2011, the MPAA announced that it would be suing Hotfile, one of the Internet’s most popular cyberlocker services.

I wonder how this will go?

  https://torrentfreak.com/tribler-makes-bittorrent-impossible-to-shut-down-120208/

While the file-sharing ecosystem is currently filled with uncertainty and doubt, researchers at Delft University of Technology continue to work on their decentralized BitTorrent network. Their Tribler client doesn’t require torrent sites to find or download content, as it is based on pure peer-to-peer communication. “The only way to take it down is to take the Internet down,” the lead researcher says.

According to Dr. Pouwelse, Tribler is fully capable of resisting any pressure from outside, and it will still work when all torrent sites and trackers are gone. It simply can’t be shutdown, blocked or censored, whatever laws politicians may come up with.
