It would seem obvious that the method with easiest precursors to obtain would bee the RP/I method. The only disadvantage this bee sees is the current pill extraction problem, which has more than one cure posted on these here boards.
The reflux is certainly the easiest rxn to maintain, as it almost compelely maintains itself. Yields of 70% are not unobtainable with clean feedstock.However, if bulk synth is what you are after and chem aquisition is of no problem, then swim sees no reason why to not go with the method you speak of in your post.
Swim has no experience with the yields in this area.
The highest yielding synth known to swim is the birch.
