yes a lot of references there, but i dont find an answer on how to make Methylecgonine from tropinone.. In this old text they reduce tropinone with raney Ni, Is this a process that will work and under what yield? it is this reference i would like to see...

The Findlay paper here converts tropinone to 2-carbomethoxytropinone: Post 488336 (Rhodium: "Synthesis of Tropinone & 2-CMT", Methods Discourse)
And the links at the bottom of the page concerns the reduction of the latter to methylecgonine. The papers in Post 487702 (Rhodium: "Willstätter's Classic Cocaine Synthesis", Methods Discourse) also details the procedure.
