Sorry for not posting this before, but swim has been using this synth for months.

It work as Rhodium stated. I even tried to optimize the reaction with 70% Hypo, then tried longer reaction times, shorter reaction times etc. This only resulted in lesser purity and lower yeilds of the target compound. 50% Hypo is Perfect!! (Please note that at lower temps > 40C the reaction does not take place in the alloted time and you will have 1/2 unreduced mix. At higher concentrations of hypo it is diffucult to control the temp at first and then the 24 Hour heating screws up half your product.)

The procedure works best (80-85% yeilds) as stated for Ephedrine. I did not Use Pseudo!!

Granted, all my reagents were lab grade, but there were virtually no impurities after a simple A/B. The M.HCL smokes 100% clean, no burn, no residue, just good value for your UP-time!!

Use a simple reflux setup with a bolloon in place on top of the condenser in the beginning of the reaction. Just like a standard hypo, HI gas evolves after the I2 and Hypo have been added. The balloon will deflate as HI is used.

Good Luck

The HP rxn is much more fire prone isn't it? is it avoidable at all, or it just does happen through the rxn and you have to treat the problem throughout?

Don't know why I'm asking I don't see me having any sodium whatchamaphosphite or white phosphorus or HP soon...
But I get to hear about your glory so make it sound danm good story!laughwinksmile Just kiddin'...
Granted, all my reagents were lab grade, but there were virtually no impurities after a simple A/B.
Possible to go in to more detail on that?
What is the ephedrine used for in industry or pharmaceuticals? I thought only the herbs were used.
The LG RP, is that from the old days you saved, or do you mean CG-Clandestine Grade, and not actual LG?

Maybe you forgot to give your personal write-up for e brewing and microwave phosphorus aswell that youve been using for the past 2yrs without a hitch!!HeHeHeeee

A write up will not get the job done though of course, top reads though.

When concentrated the acid can be fire prone if conditions are right, however in the above example it is at 57% and used in much smaller quantity than when it is the only solvent in the reaction as normal. ( I should say, what I call normal)So this to me makes possible a reaction I already know to be superior to most, that greatly reduces the many dangers I know to be lurking constantly, with less hypophosphorus acid required and greater yields with the only negative aspect being the time the rxn requires! The time aspect is cancelled out though really, as this could happily run it's course unnattended once going.
I have always had reservations about discussing this reduction in detail because if a newbee had to cope with some of the circumstances I have encountered and often quite unexpectedly, there would be injuries and police presence before they knew it and I wish no part of encouraging people to invite this into their lives. Hence my strong warnings in other posts, and likely where you heard of fire danger. This is not to say that my prior warnings were exaggerated, it can be evil shit and when it is trust me, everyone anywhere nearby will know about it just after you do.
So, I'm off to perform some experiments and will report back soon with my findings. Thanks young fella!cool

Regards, Hematite.

Strange how all beez assume that posting beez are from USA. HeHe, here in swims country Eph.hcl 25g bottles can be had over the counter for the equivalent of $5.70

How sick is that. "I use it for marathon training sir"

Hypo is nothing strange to purchase from my local supplier since they've known me for years, the hypo is expensive though. 500G LG I2 for $32.00

My theory on US beeze getting easily fooled by non US beezez actual locations is that the non US beeze can usually express themselves so believably in (what is to the non US beeze) the foreign language of Angellisch.

That's because the Yanks have so successfully exported their culture to the rest of the world, mainly via Hollywood.
That's my theory.
er..this is off topic & belongs on the Couch so I'll qualify it by adding the comment:

I'm really pleased with the hypo option cos the match box strikers I've been working with have so far resisted a small arsenal of solvents & acids - fucking phosphorous must be glued with Satan's semen or something..er this heading Couch ways again so I'll just shut up and post.

Lucky duck! It's the SiCkEsT bra...alas I don't live where you live clearly. doh. I'm not bitter either! frown

Hematite, thanks for the fire danger rundown, and ta also for the reluctance - i agree, sometimes, on rare occasion, food for thought is just lika shit on a plate unless your certain you have the proper silverware to cut the pork! I really like learning about the P and HI reduction anyway, it's a beauty.
