	Found some shit on recovering I2 from a push/pull, but how about after a E/I2/RP rxn? My cousin's pet cock is gonna do a reflux and then steam distill after to extract the dope. Is it possible to get some of that iodine back somewhere in there? Also what's this fucking rash on my penis? It itches all the time and when I scratch it feels good but just itches more when I stop. Mabey I should just stop touching it.

	OK, whether you steam distilled, extracted or what, you've got the crank freebase out of your mother liquor, but to do that you had to make it basic. So it's a basic aq. solution, with organic byproducts of the reaction, and the phosphate and the iodide of the base. You absolutely want to filter this very good first, to get out all the phosphorus you can reclaim, which is a lot harder to get and a lot more valuable than iodine. Then reduce the water volume by boiling, but stop before it turns to a dark gummy mass. Treat this as if it were tincture of iodine: place in a glass casserole with the lid inverted and filled with ice as a cold finger for sublimation. Take it outside, add a quart of peroxide and a quarter cup of sulfuric acid, and heat to sublime your iodine. K? turning science fact into *<< science fiction >>*

	Halfapint, what you are saying is to take all of the reaction mix filter very well. Add sodium hydroxide and then boil the mix until almost goo, then add a quart of 3% hyudrogen peroxide and a quarter of a cup of Sulphuric Acid and sublime. Just wanted to get it right, is that the way........

	this was covered in "good bye to providone" from iodin tinc NaOH added till color change from purple to clear or yellow {this changes I ti NaI} heat till dry - add DH2O then perform electrolysis to fld. I2 crystals attach to anode remove and rinse w/ cold DH2O X3 whala same procedure for base sludge only Naoh is already there. just reduce add DH2O and electrolysis everything here is for informational and theoretical use only.

	After trying the electro method, swims found it much easier and reliable to take the post reaction liquid including p/p water and add muriatic acid until the ph is very low red on your paper or 2 on your meter. BTW filter the post reaction solution through a shirt or panty hose or some other non clogging filter. When the ph is 2 then add hydrogen peroxide 3% until your soultion turns a blood red, usually takes about a pint. Stir vigorously or shake. Wait, if you don't see crystals floating to the top after five minutes add more peroxide and stir or shake this should not take any more than three pints. Filter and wash and wash and wash your ctrystasls then dry, swims sublimates but you may find sublimation more difficult than it's worth, for me it's worth the trouble in purity and dryness.

	Thanks simonsays7 that is a cool idea espl. the adding post-cook fld to the p/p water, do it all at onetime and the acid in p/p water is gonna do a lot takein' the PH in the direction desired. and yes I agree about sublimation in regards to purity, and dryness, which is more important than realized by some (it effects weighing of the I resulting in not enough I in rxn, & oveall mosture[H²O] content of rxn) everything here is for informational and theoretical use only.
