I think they might be - you can get drugs ones, with real drugs. We had a talk a few years ago at school, and they passed round a load of drugs with almost a teacher per student to make sure they weren't stolen!
Also, I think they may be used in training sniffer dogs, and you can't train a dog to sniff for RDX without some RDX...

This particular one doesn't look like it would be used for sniffers, but rather for immediate human recognition. Such samples would naturally only be sold to law enforcement people, and not seemingly to the general public as well. Plus there usually would be a huge array of warnings and such to come with such a massively explosive array. In fact, I'd bet good money that it didn't contain anything capable of so much as a crackle. :)

Nah, it wouldn't've been worth it. A gram or so of hash, heroine, speed, LSD etc. Not kilo quantities!
Just thought: no-one is going to package MF, LA and tetrazene in the same case as Semtex and RDX etc, so they're probably not real.

At almost $4,000 it better be the real deal. And if it isn't, then why the restriction to police only?

I'd imagine that the material would be safely packaged or encapsulated to allow handling. And loose MF or LA wouldn't set off SEMTEX, even in direct contact.

Call me a tight-fisted bastard but I'd never pay anything like $3750 for that, there's probably $50 worth of explosive in there (if it's real).

I had one of those drugs talks when I was a kid too, amongts other stuff passed round was a block of cannabis resin the size of a house brick! It wasn't wrapped either so since I had long finger nails at the time I dug them in hard, passed it along and then sat there picking it from under my nails with my teeth. I must only have been 10 or 11 at the time:)

I don't know how hard it is for you to get LSD where you come from, but I can get LSD for about £10 a gram. (£10 about $15)

Yeah sure you can get lsd for 10 dollars a gram, if you could you could make 20,000 hits, that's 5 dollars a hit, times 20,000 that's 100,000 dollars. lsd NEVER comes in fure form, even when you make it it's in solution, and when you deal out acid it is delt in hits or ~20Ug that's nano grams a hit, if you buy lsd by weight you'r a fool beacuse the amount of paper that gets saturated and the amount that gets absorbed into the paper, when you saturate the paper sure 20Ug of crystals are there. Now is it lsd you were talking abut?

As far as the US federal government is concerned, a 250 nanogram hit on a gram of paper equals one gram of pure LSD for sentencing purposes.

So, if you fuck with acid in the US, get the purest powder you can. Avoid carriers like liquids and paper like the plague.
