hi Jumala,
I know you're a big boss in electronic so, I would like to ask you a schema... It must b easy for you : I would like to do a remote detonation. There is an emettor and a receptor, this last is wired to a 9V battery with a filament lamp which is in the det.
When I push the swith of the emettor, the circuit with the receptor is closed and the det. goes off...

which type of emettor/receptor ? (a distance of 100 meters maximum is good...)
I would like also a cheap circuit with the minimum of components...
And finally, I would like a precise schema if possible... because I'm not good in electronic...

thanx for all !

Hallo Stanfield,

the problem with remote controls is that they are allway more or less difficult.

Remote control with radio waves, 27 MHz CB Band is possible but very difficult to built without experiences. You can buy the equipment but this is expensive. (And the receiver is destroyed after use)

An other possibility is to use a laserpointer with a rifle scope and a pin diode as receiver but unmodulated it is to danderous.

Perhaps a sonic transmitter like a dog whistle and receiver with microphone and PLL could work.
I will look for a suitable solution and mail you the results.

Put me on the list too please. http://theforum.virtualave.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif I'm looking for something that I can modify, all I need is the circuit and I can take it from there. http://theforum.virtualave.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif I've used your timer in my new blasting machine and it works great, albeit, I've modified it a bit to include selectable presets up to 12 times.

put a potentiometer and you will have all the times you want http://theforum.virtualave.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif !

LOL, I wanted someting a "bit" more accurate.

I actualy have 5 pots in it now; 10s, 30s, 45s, 1m, and 1.5m times set. I've now got everything done, wires trimmed and PCB mounted. It works perfectly, including the chargeing jack and carrying strap. Pics will be on the FTP by tonight along with a little video of it in operation (nichrome coil).

You do know, there are several things you can use without much modification, one is a cordless phone, they run on 9-12V dc usually, and the ones that have a page feature would work. I also have seen transmitter recever pairs for car door lock keychains for a few bucks. and I have seen 12V batterys that are about half the size of an AA battery that could be used for the transmitter and reciever.

They have 12V batteries in many sizes, one is about 1/2 the size of a AAA, they also make (or made) an AA size square battery which was 22.5V.

I thought about modifying some type of existing unit, but I want something fairly simple that one can make from parts. Something that would be functional and able to be made from parts found at most electronics stores, plus, I'm also looking to gain the knowledge of such things. I'm also looking for something with a LOT more range than a cordless phone, although FCC compliance worries me a bit. http://theforum.virtualave.net/ubb/smilies/rolleyes.gif

whoa EventHorizon, that blasting box is awesome. think you could draw some schematics and parts lists, scan them in and upload them?

If enough interest is generated I'll put together a pdf of a full parts list, broken into what can be obtained from RatShack and Mouser, along with the template for the holes that I made in AutoCAD and a clear and concise schematic.

Basically tho, its just a 317 voltage reg circuit to power the LED's and relays and Jumala's 4541 timer circuit modified with a little bigger transister and the 12 position switch for the Rtresistors. Its just a SPDT switch to change modes.
