y need potassium ferri/ferrocyanide complex salt and potassium formiate
K<sub>3</sub>[Fe(CN)<sub>6</sub>]orange salt
K<sub>4</sub>[Fe(CN)<sub>6</sub>]yellow salt
HCOOK (or potassium carbonate/hydroxide + formic acid) melting point: 160<sup>0</sup>C
mix them(to have relative 6 moles of K<sup>+</sup> total),melt them at 160<sup>0</sup>C,it turns black,let it cool down,dissolve ,filter out Fe (metal) dust...

PS. Ni catalyst recovery method?:
nickel formiate decomposes to Ni powder in boiling brake fluid/oil...
could someone test it's catalytic activity in hydrogenation process?
(Ni(HCOO)<sub>2</sub>is very little soluble in water)
(it's no more Raney Ni)
