Military grade grenade systems are carefully machined from sheet metal and springs custom for the job, its easier to arm "practice" grenades than to custom manufacture your own.

You can find a load of improvised ignition systems in the Improvised Munitions Handbook.

For schems of active use grenades go to the uspto.gov

I don't want to make a grenade, only a schema http://theforum.virtualave.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
If, one day, I would like to make that, I'll take some dynamite and a fuse and HOP ! the grenade is made... (a little bit of dynamite...)

a_bab, i already know this page :

You mean the pre-blasting cap era?

If you want to use dynamite, then you should need an initiator(blasting cap).It is only in the movies that shows that dynamite explode with a mere fuse.If you use plain fuse then black powder is suitable,I doubt if your metal case grenade could provide the desirable fragment size(or will it be able to break upon explosion with BP),however if your explosive case is made of pottery/ceramic(hardened in a kiln) then that will be possible….
However if you insist on a metal grenade case You might think of filling it with HMTD,AP and other initiating explosive -you do not need a fuse.Once you throw and it hit a hard surface it will detonate...but please be careful in filling and handling it,you might become the victim of your own creation. It is difficult also to fill with such a touchy explosive like a primary...

if you fill the grenade with AP, it will detonate under its own weight !!

why not get a thunderclap wrap some nails around it and use a 555timer with a relay ,12v lighter battery and switch and presto you have a nasty bit of shit that is fully programable from micro seconds to weeks
now you can roll it in epoxy glue and then in a dish of small lead sinkers , thats one badass mofo grenade my friend and should have an efective range of around 15 - 20 feet

How many other, more recent, threads on grenades did you skip to dig up this fossil?
