I've just got hold of some h202, on the bottle it says 10-30% hydrogen peroxid.
What does that mean? Is it 10 or is it 30%, A friend of mine told me that it maybe 30% when it's manufactured and graduatly looses strength, is this possible?

i find it very difficult to mix a good AP mix, when my h202 is anything from 10 to 30%.
Is there anyway to find out the strenght, well i think the % is pretty high anyway, cause when i get it on my hands, they turn white instantly.

Might just be *very* lax manufacturing tolerances. It is very annoying, like antifreeze that says contains 20%-50% methanol or "greater than 50%" maybe it's just to make things difficult for people who do naughty things with stuff

Its important to be able assay reagents being used at home, H2O2 is fortunatly one of the easier ones. Titrate with a reducing agent, the 'proper' way, or decompose by adding MnO2 for example, and measure the amount of gas that comes off. Anyone with chemistry to 18 years of age should be able to do either of these well enough to get a fairly accurate estimate.

Another time i've searched for H2O2 and finally found it. Incase people from Sweden wonder, it's under name "Blekrent" 5-15% and Javex &lt;5%. Both are sold in usual stores as desinfectioners.
Today i bought this Blekrent and titrated it with KMnO4 solution, got concentration to about 12,5% <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />
Though permanganate solution was prepared a bit innacurate, without scales, i dissolved maximal ammount of salt in water assuming that 7g dissolved in 100ml at 22oC and used this solution (diluted further).

AP time for frog! wee
