Using h2so4 @ 70% and kno3 at ~100% what will the yield of of nitric be using the vapourising method. The one with the 2 bottles and the heat and stuff.

You should get something like 80% HNO3!

why dont you concentrate the H2SO4 by boiling and get highter percentage.

Atropine,did you mean the method in 'Imp. Munitions Manual'?.There was a condenser design in PMJB #1 that's easy to make and works better.Just get a long section of clear flexible 1/4 or 3/8th. tubing and a large coffee can.Punch two holes through the sides of the can,one at the top,another at the bottom.Run your hose through the top hole,looping it several times around the inside,then run the other end out through the bottom hole;seal the holes up with silicone.Connect the top end to your reaction vessel,and have a second container below the bottom hose.Then fill the can with ice,water and you're set!.

I get good results by using a leibig condenser and running ice cold water through the cooling jacket, but the coffee can idea sounds very good, and cheaper.
