I'm sorry i'm not as smart as you guys but what is vacuum distilling what kind of vacuum should i use dirt devel a dust buster hoover what????

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the idea of vacuum distillation is to lower the boiling point of what you are trying to distill, making it easier to distill/not decompose it.

I think it is way too complicated to make this still at home... proper lab equippment is required ie. like real vacuum pump... not vacuum cleaner

How can it be improvised, were the heck do you get a vacumm pump from, i could use this knowledge for separating out nitromethane from the oils and methanol they mix it with in model fuels.

Refrigerators use compressor pumps which (when hooked up in reverse) become capable vacuum pumps.
An amateur scientist article described how to do the conversion as part of making a particle accelerator. It's also in the Amateur Scientist projects book which you may find in a library.

Or, if you did a search on the 'net, like I did, you would have found an article like this one.

You can get a device which connects to your water faucet to create a moderate vacuum, it's called an aspirator and costs less than $10.00. Pyrotek has them.
