Found this at rhodiums site:

2 CuOAc + NH4NO3 + 2 AcOH 2 Cu(OAc)2 + NH4NO2 + H2O

Seems like a great way to obtain NaNO2:

NH4NO2 + NaOH -> NaNO2 + NH4OH (some NH3 will dissappear in gas form)

Anyone forsee any troubles with this reaction? Anything would be welcome!

Ammonium nitrite isn't stable.
But perhaps an alkali nitrate could be substituted for ammonium nitrate? I don't see why not.
