So who here has been to www.grouchymedia.com ? who liked those videos? well for everyone who likes em how would you like to see a video like that, except full of only videos and pictures that forum members have gotten from their own "dreams"? I have compiled a great many videos and pictures from forum members iinto a video like that found at grouchymedia and am waiting for Ctrl_C to email me back about an account so that I can upload it to the forum FTP. The video is a large 29.3 megs which goes down to 22 megs when zipped making it a pain in the ass for people on dialup to download, but I think it would be worth the time. I have appropriatly named the movie "Dreams" and The background music is Black All Over by the band Lollipop Lust Kill. Some of the reasons I have picked this song are 1) in the chorus the words "black all over kinda reminded me of smoke and dirt flying through the air 2) the words "life is nothing but a dream to me can be heard a few times 3) Everybody Run! is heard 4) it's just a bad ass metal song which I thought would suit the video well. Remember that I have only used things made by members here so don't think that I only used material by people that I like or anything. I dont play favorites. I have even used the only pictures that I have ever seen posted by Mega, being those of phorone production. If anyone has any comments please post... "is this a good idea? Is this a bad idea? Should I be shot for making this? Have I been so out of it that I have failed to notice that there is already a forum video floating around?

Yea I would like it if everyone could download the movie. I'm thinking about cutting it into files and uploading like that but would you guys be able to compile it back into one video? I guess I should have mentioned before, but for all who wanted to know, it's an MPEG movie. And if you mean attempt to get into the ftp, I can kinda get into it but not really. I can view whats in like spydamonkies' folder and whats in kingspas' and such but there's no way in hell I'm gonna upload the thing to anyone elses folder even if it was possible. I don't like the idea of pissing forum members off, especially since I made this video FOR them. I'll just wait for my own account or I'll findsomewhere else to upload. I dunno about you guys but I'd be kinda mad if someone uploaded something that was theirs to my folder without askin ya know. (NO IM NOT ASKING)

Also, if people can link to more videos/ pictures that they have goten from their own experiments and "dreams" I'll think about making another video with Rammstein in it since that would be a good song.

Actually im uploading it now to a free web hard drive, www.filesanywhere.com to be specific. They have a 50 meg limit and I figured I'd try to cut down on the wait. I'm on a 56k so its slow, but its getting there. I'm uploading as one file instead of in pieces. I'm now at 30% and I've been uploading for about an hour now so it should be up in a couple hours.

The video is now up. I request that someone with FTP access and with a cable connection go download the file first incase it gets deleted that way you may upload it to the ftp for all the members with FTP access.

The username is all capitols ( THERAPIST ) and the password is in all lowercase ( schoolsucks ).
It should pop up with a list of files on the left side of the page.
Click the first folder and then right click on "Dreams.mpg" then hit download.
I think I may be breaching the terms of agreement by placing the link and such on this forum but thats fine by me. The file will only stay there for 30 days maximum. It's zipped and is 27 megs. I'm not sure but I think I saw somewhere that I am only allowed to have 5 connections a day. Do remember that this is the first movie I've ever made and I did the best I could with what I had. Hope you like it.

I do remember when there was a topic that had a link to those grouchy media videos. Got me thinking as well :D . At the time it was well out of my reach to produce such footage into one downloadable movie. We must make something like this an annual event. I'm sure we could dig up some more footage that we found just lying about from unknown contributors ;) .

That video is AWESOME! I liked it much better than the grouchy media ones even. Just some constructive suggestions: Some parts of it get kind of slow, like watching the rocket fall out of the sky and when we are waiting for the dart to shoot through the pop bottle. Some parts are pretty low resolution, it would be great to replace them with similar idea higher res videos. I really liked the progressive ones like where you show the shaped AP charge, then the telephone book after, and zoom out.

Who made that zip gun, it looks impressive. The colored flame picture looks great too.

Why is there a Wiagra label on the fireball video? I'm pretty sure they are by Zero the Inestimable (aerosol cans ignited and blown up by a cob).

Maybe you could tell us a little about the video, like where the video of the cannon that shot burning stuff (aluminum based stars?) came from, and who made the zip gun? Naturally when I see cool stuff like that I want to know more about it :).

That Video IS AWESOME!!!! Great work, Just before I read this file, I was looking through a Video of mine of a camping trip a while back, 2 hours of VHS quality footage, I had 2.5kg of ANNM, 1kg of APAN, 3kg of Zn/S Flash, and peroxides coming out of my ears. If I can figure out how I'll try and make it into one bi video like that. Great work THErAPIST.

HEH HEH. Yea I know there were some slow spots, and I hate em more than you know. I didn't have anything to put in the video to cut down on those slower parts. I used ALL the media I had from the forum to make that vid. I would have added a couple more of my own pictures in there to cut down on those spots, but I didn't want it to look like I thought my stuff was the best or something. There are a few pictures of a co2 grenade (the one with the nails. and the pic of the coffee can that had been blown to shit, and there were a couple pictures of my pentagon firecrackers in there that I had to use just to take up space and I really don't like the fact that I have my own stuff in there. I once had more pictures of things like members blasting caps and such but they were on my other computer and they got deleted when my comp decided to kill itself one day.

Yes there were a couple vids with Wiagra at the bottom but that got put there by a program I have called Wiagra. I used it to change the AVI files into MPEG files since Adobe Premiere hates the type of AVI that zeros movies were encoded in.. speaking of zero. I hope I'm not too far out of line when I ask, What heppened to him?

The star mines and the big ass fireball (which was at 2:38) were done by EP IIRC.

There were various pictures in the video from people like DBSP, NBK, MEGA, and so many other people i cant even recall who all did things... Ill have to compose a list of people who had their media used.

You do all remember that sad guy that noone liked...I think he was called Hypersonic gamer? The kid you all hated? He found my AIM screen name and messaged me one day just to shoot the shit...That big ass fireball at the very of the movie... it was made by him...

If you want a video made, or if you would like to have your stuff included in one of the forum videos, then see about converting it to digital files and chop them up. Then link to them. I would be happy to start making another video if people can start linking to new vids and pictures so that I can download them.

Will everyone who recognises something that is theirs please post and say what is yours in the vid? That would save me an ungodly amount of time and then eveyone can see who to thank for the vid.

And on a side note, I'm sorry for the pixelation on some parts of the vid. If I knew how to fix it I definately would have.

I really like this vid and I'de like to see more of them. I've got a bunch of videos I've made during the last half years or so and LOTS of pics unfortunately the FTP my stuff it hosted on is down at the moment so they aren't availible right now unless I find another place to put them.
I made another gasoline fireball the other day that was really nice which I have on video. Either next week or the week after I'm getting a shipment of chems, including Ti powder which means I will be able to make som really nice fireballs with HE soon. I will probably be doing some LSCs soon as well.

I've got a really crazy idea that I would like to try out. Only it will be onw hell of a thing to set off, expensive too. It's a 20l empty chainsaw lubricant oil plastic container I would like to fill with gasoline and fire with a 100g ANNM/Ti charge. That would be a badass fireball! I don't know where to detonate it + it would cost me over 18$ to do it, it would be fun though.

Due to a school project I'm going to have to buy a real videocamera;) + some editing equipment:) Guess what that will be used for as well.

I'll have to try to make of these. I was going to do this at one stage with Australian Army videos and pictures, as I beleive them to be the best.... as I would. One day when I get the time / patience.

Anyway, GREAT work with that vid, just the sort of thing I want to see. Have you got a list of all the videos that went into it ? I would like to view all of them seperately too, and I only have half of them.

I assume my semi-absence from the forum over the last 6 months has made me miss some, but I'll have to find that "forum pics an vids" thread. I just wish I had my own to contribute. I'll have to get myself a digital camera, movie camera if possible.

The song mentioned is " Feuer Frei ! " By Rammstein, and is a personal favourite, it's at the begining of triple x, in the club.... think of the face mounted flamethrower... I hope some of that clip can be included.....

Well DBSP, if you can find somewhere to fire that expensive ass fireball you have in mind be sure to tell me where I can get the vid :D . Be sure to tell me how to get those vids that are on your FTP also as i would like to make one vid that has nothing BUT explosions and fireballs. I now have a job so maybe I'll be able to buy a digi vid cam soon. I don't have a list of vids but I will make a list when I can find the time. Many of the vids came off of member websites so if you want to see even more than what were included in the vid go check out some of the sites, they're all worth your time :p An idea was also presented to me by my friend. He suggested that I have a song playing in the background and then swap back and forth from explosions and such to video of the band playing that song...

I plan on setting off some HE type fireballs on the 4th of July and ill put those in the next vid if I can manage to get vid of em

Go with the band playing inbetween, download feuer frei, and watch, there's clips of the movie xxx inbetween, there's the band playing, albeit in the movie. just replace the xxx movie clips with explosive clips....... I hope that'll help, cos I really wanna see it.....

Most of the rammstein videos are full of pyro stuff, as the lead singer is a fully licenced pyrotechnic.

Maybe some big hollywood explosions, eg the building in the end of "Terminator 2 : judgement day", I love that movie.

I got my camera fo $20 at a school fete, it's a total piece of shit, but I can't afford a better one.
I got a bunch of videos from places. who's was that at 2:30? I want that video. The final for mine is gonna be a video of the MOAB going off. I still can't find a program to convert .mov files to .mpeg, I tried d/ling wiagra 3 times, and it corrupted each time. I'll try with Ulead VideoPro 6.

I know some of you guys don' like the anime stuff, but I like the pic simply because it says "A weapon of mass instruction." I would rather make a movie with just a background song instead of a music video being swapped back and forth to, but I was just putting the idea up to see what other members thought of it. The vids I have plans on making sometime in the future... Vid of nothing but explosions, vid which is a really big picture slide show of all pictures I can find, a THE BEST OF vid which will be the explosions and pics members liked the most, and a OVER TIME vid which will be the most memorable things that have been seen on the forum from the beginning up until that time. The over time vid will most likely have more than one version, and the vids will probably have to be played back to back because they will end up being far to large to DL if I just kept adding on to the origonal movie. What do you guys think of the ideas? And thanks for the compliments on the vid. To tell the truth, I was kind of suprised I didn't get flamed for trying to suck up to the members or something...

WOW, I must say this is quite a work of art. The synchronization was very good, I especially liked the "everybody run!" lyric right before the big one. Many of the bits are familiar, with a few ones I haven't seen yet. About the only big explosion that I thought was missing was the one APAN video where a member posted a vid of a rotten stump exploding. It was one of the more impressive pyro vids I've seen because the camera was left close enough where the bits of wood rained down on it, and you could see the shockwave knock some nearby trees around.

I don't believe you can download from the uploads folder at all. Not quite sure, check the forum FTP thread, or contact Ctrl_C. I know I used to be able too, but after a while that stopped. I don't have nay FTP access since the re-signups started. I'll see how that goes, or I'd double check for you.

I have used everything in my pentagons. I have used flash, whistle, BP, AP, HMTD, DBSP, many different crushed up stars, And ive mixed the comps. The things that were in my pentagons when I was at the house (the pics in the vid came from the house) were DBSP, BP, and whistle.
My pentagons are pretty much big polumnas. What was linked to itn's how I make my pentagons and I dunno how well they would hold the comp... Try to make em the way describen in the link. To tell the truth, polumnas are easier to make and can be made MUCH quicker so I would just stick with those if I were you. I make polumnas most of the time.

I'll edit this post in a couple of hours and tell how I make pentagons just incase you get bored and want to make some. I've got the mother of all headaches right now and I'm having a hard time thinking though, sorry. I'm gonna go sleep this thing off...

Do whatever you want with that clip. Send it to whoever, put it into other clips, put it on a dvd with other shtuff like it... WHATEVER you want to do with it, feel free to. As far as credits go... I dont need any credit as my name is at the end in a pic that got horribly fucked over when I put it into the vid... im sure you can think of something spiffy to say when it comes to credit for the other members. Something like "all the home "dreamers" at the forum" would probabky work well.
