Well you could spend some time reading past posts, particularly one called first explosive or something similar to that. Its in the misc section.

If NBK doesnt Ban you, you might want to try giving the 'search' button a go!

He is not going to ban you.. everybody has to learn somewhere and it is preffered that you don't get your learning at totse or weirdpeer (it will pollute your mind!!).

Anyways, from personal experience, black powder used to be the only thing I would ever make.. mainly because I simply never knew how to make anything else. I used it in rockets, mortars, fuses, and the occasional metal firecracker.. its nice stuff to play with and easy to make, but it often leaves people thinking that they can get by with just doing that.

The next thing that I would have recommended for you would be a good flash composition of any sort.. you don't really need to get into all the different mixes, but its good to have something that will produce more energy than your BP.. once you realize that BP isn't the greatest thing since playboy, you will have the will power to try more powerful compositions.

After that, you need to move on to good primary. Picric acid, AP, and HMTD are all relatively easy to make and the chemicals are readily available if you do a little looking around. Once you have successfully detonated a few good primary charges, then just store this knowledge in the back of your head because you will need it to make detonators for your more stubborn HEs.

Next is usually some sort of NH4NO3 mixture.. relatively easy to get a hold of and can be used for seemingly countless compositions. Also if your choice of primary was AP (and probably PA as well), you might want to make a mix by pressing 10-15% of your primary into the NH4NO3 and trying to detonate, usually this works quite well and is fairly easy.

Once you have had quite a bit of experience with ammonium nitrate mixtures, then you are ready to take a look at the many HE information sources (plenty on the FTP) and try to find one that you can attain the chems for (and preferably don't attempt something like HNIW right away... you won't ever find the materials for this unless you synthesize it yourself). Then from then on its fun!

(Also you might want to bring back your old BP and flash knowledge and make a few pyrotechnical displays.. adding color to your explosions is always nice)

Continue with H3 and other perchlorate mixes. If you've used H3, you'll think that BP is for pussy's
After that try some KMnO4 compositions, real powerful, but somewhat more dangerous.

H3 is a very good idea. Matches are fun if your bored or cheap, and AP is a wonder explosive when your starting out.

Ok NBK i get the message. Sorry :o

As for fuse, i have been to Rocky before. I know i went past a few "outdoor sportman" stores It has been discussed before that fuse in Australia is available in Gun Shops. Usually sold under the name "Waterproof cannon fuse". Hope it helps. :)
