Trying to make it, to experiment with the Tetramine complex

So far, i always end up with what appears to be Copper Oxide. Any ideas ?

Starting from CuSO4, but i can turn that into other salts of course. Using KMnO4 also.

Can you give details on hwo you tried this? It greatly helps, say if someone asked "my BP sucks, how do I make it better?" you would generally be pissed about the lack of detal ;)

CuSO4 and KMnO4, in eqimolar amounts in aqueous solution, and fingers crossed

I'm guessing the brown crap which precipitates is CuO and/or MnO2

As far as getting Cu(NO3)2 for TANN, Calcium nitrate and CuSO4 precipitates the insoluble Ca sulfate, so it's pretty painless. No fractional crystalllisation or anything needed.

But i haven't evaporated my I-think-it's-TANN yet.,

Say Blindreeper, have you seen any ammonia solution around, other than 6% household type? I'll just use (NH4)2SO4 and NaOH in a gas generator if using the aqeuous solution doesn't work
