Codemason, I was just wondering if there were any AN flash comp's I never saw formula for one so I wanted to ask, and the reason is I have a a lot of AN in my lab to use and nothing to use it on, as an explosive so I thought is there any compositions that use AN. So sorry if my question looks stupid.

There are no flash comps that use NH4NO3 as the oxidizer. Most metal powders are incompatible with it, making the comp sensitive.

It has been used in the past to make Sulfurless BP, something I'd like to try out when my ball mill's up and running.

In general though, there are much better oxidizers available. The only advantages of AN are that it's cheap and readily available to most people.

Do a search for Teflon, it has been discussed before.

Or check out the PFP-database www.come.to/pfp (http://www.come.to/pfp) . There is a few flash-compositions with Teflon, and I think I have seen a AN flash-comp. there also!

Or Ammonpulver. That's AN and charcoal, with KNO3 to make it more sensitive to flame. When ignited, it burns with the vigour of smokeless powder with 30% nitroglycerin content!
