If you need it, look towards the Marine industry. It is added to paint to increase abrasion resistance...It also is said to help retard fire! Anyway, the brand I bought is "West System" 420 Aluminum Powder...it is as fine as flour and believe me.......it reacts with KMNO4 and S!!!!!!! Very little confinment is needed to wake up my neighbors.

Again, go to your nearest Marine repair shop...they will have it or tell you where to go.

I paid $6.91 for 1 lb.

When I was young and kewl, I went to a large paint store that doubled as a marine supply store (it's right on the docks) to enquire about Al powder. I only knew about the paint grade Al at the time, and I asked for it. They said they stopped selling it due to toxicity, but I should go to an auto store and get it in the form of radiator stop-leak. Maybe they knew what it was for, but just didn't want the responsibility of aiding some dumb kiddie b0mAr. http://theforum.virtualave.net/ubb/smilies/wink.gif
