Here we go again-

Lorry blast kills 16 in Romania (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/3742161.stm)

They said they didn't know what was in the truck they were attempting to extinguish. Here in the US, the truck would have been placarded with the UN shipping hazard class of the ammonium nitrate fertilizer. Not enough left of the truck to tell if they bothered to follow UN guidelines-

We call these ABC fires- Armchair, Binoculars, Cooler...

Yeah, I read the news. Apparently there were some reporters killed, and the video cassete survived the blas. The camera was found 300 m away from the blast. The the movie can be downloaded here (http://81.196.216.20:8000/complet.avi)

The movie it's compressed with DivX 5.11. Apparently, in the very last frames (a frame by frame view is necesay, with Virtual Dub) you can see the AN bags being set off.

Because the AN was pure, so the oxygen balance was positive, the resulted cloud of smoke was mainly NO2.

EDIT: the picture with the smoke cloud, as photographed from the back of the car several hundreds m away from the blast by a witness here (http://www.evz.ro/images/?image_name=20040526ex)
