Script problems?

Hey all, this is my first post, of hopefully many here, but I am having some problems with the site itself, When I login under my nick, I get the screen saying my credentials/permissions are insufficient, I have to jump directly to a forum and go on from there. I have the same problem trying to access features on my member private area, for instance i cannot change my password, avatar, or any other of the personal settings.

Could a mod possibly clarify wether this is a problem with scripts etc. or a restriction on new members, or any other reason that is known to you that causes this.
