Does anyone know of a really good on-line chemistry course? Are there any free courses? I would really like to find an intermediate, self-paced course that is thorough and easy to understand. I know this might be a tall order to fill. There is so much on the web, I was just wondering if any of you guys had found some real good stuff amongst all the clatter.

I googled "Chemistry courses" and came up with what seemed like a good site. Here (http://www.indiana.edu/~cheminfo/c_course.html)

I'm not a big fan of online course, i had a friend who took highschool chemistry online, to make a long story short, He went into AP Chemistry not knowing what a mole was.....

I simply dont bilieve that its possible to teach chemistry without giving the student hands on experience.

I also think that a nice energetic redox reaction performed by a teacher, eg a thermite, is one of the best ways to convince a class that they want to know what a mole is and how to calculate the right amounts for the most spectacular reaction.

Chemistry has a lot of very dull aspects that arnt any use until much later on.
