I'm just curious... but maybe you guys can help me with this. I look several posts and noticed that many of them are related to toxicity of the substance used or made, or dangers involved in process making it. Except MSDS where would you look upon to find data related to toxicity of substances. :o
Most of the stuff I know I learned through my studies but now I don't know where to look for this subject, what you recomend as reference material to read or find info about.

Some sort of industrial health and safety site may have the information you require, e.g. OSH's. Otherwise, you could look up individual substances on Google, with the added search words toxic OR toxicity.

Thanks Bugger I forgot to OSH...I believe FDA also have good database. Does anyone have some textbook in electronic format in this area? It would be nice of you to help me with this?:)

There is also LD50 <name of substance> (Lethal dose for 50% of trials) this will lead to the more useful information with the least amount of sifting, it includes the g/kg dosage and such for many animals and possibley some primates. but I think on most of them the largest animal you will find would be a dog . You can also type in LD100 and get similar resulsts if the hits for LD50 don't include the LD100. Hope this helps you

You may give it a try to http://hazard.com/msds/ . This site contains both MSDS and toxicity data of the various substances.

Well this question is induced by interesting thread about itching chemicals etc.

The first time I have feeling that I do miss some general knowledge of toxicology, spreading and entry ways of chemical agents, pharmacology, pharmacodynamics...

So if you have at least some good chemical laboratory practice manual...I find it more than welcome:)

Simple use of google gave me this search engine:
http://msds.pdc.cornell.edu/msdssrch.asp

And I have used this page a long time:
