Assault weapons ban has ended. Yet when the dust clears new anti-AW extremists come forth and conduct their own tests. We all might have something to worry about...

See for yourself: http://www.assaultweaponwatch.com/ You gotta love it. :p

Yes, the antigunners are trying at local levels. At the federal level,
their efforts are useless. I'm sure they freaked out when Bush was
re-elected. Bush said he supported the ban but I think this is just
a politician looking for more votes. He knew that there was no way
in hell a Republican controlled Senate and House were even going to
consider a renewal on that ban. Kerry busted his chops on that 1
during the debates claiming it was a "lack of leadership" that allowed
the ban to expire. Bullshit ! Bush had no interest in renewing that
ban anymore than the NRA(of which I'm a proud member) did !

Artical 4, section 2 of the US constitution; (paraphrased) A right in one state is a right in all the others.

Rhode Island Constitution (et al); "The Right to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed". Case closed. I'm a member of the NRA, but I can't understand why they don't try to knock down gun control once and for all useing this right.

Maybe we should start a campagne to control free speech by any group that tries to impose limitations on any of the Bill of Rights.

(Is that a self annilating statement or what).

Therein lies the problem. To do this is to lower yourself to their level and admit you are no better than THEY are. The US Constitution was written to make sure our rights (theirs, too, whether they care about them or not) were NOT infringed upon, legally. Now every right we have is being slowly written away in tiny paragraphed ammendments to that Constitution. (That's why alot of us are here at RS, isn't it? To exercise our rights to free speech and share knowledge which just may become illegal to have very soon?).

Nevermind, though. I guess nobody got the sarcasm of the website. Guns don't kill people. People kill people. We should all live in a foam NERF world where nobody can get hurt. (more of my favorite weapon: SARCASM). :D

"The Right to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed".

If you bare your arms in the sun for too long, you'll get sunburn. :p

How many spelling errors are in the Constitution?

So please, when discussing matters relating to it, check your own spelling, because bare (uncovered, exposed) is NOT the same as bear (keep, brandish, possess; also large mammal) and makes gun bearers look ignorant, which is exactly the image the antis' want for us.

Festergrump, I did see the website and realize it's a laugh at the
antigunners. I was just pointing out that the antigun nuts haven't
given up - not by a longshot ! Right now they're licking their wounds
and hoping to sneak the ban back in anyway they can. What's
really needed here is a veto-proof Congress where pro-gun bills can
be rammed through and a strict constructionist Supreme Court would
help out also. I would love to see GCA '68 repealed ! Feinstein,
Kennedy, and Schumer would probably die from sudden strokes if that
ever happened !
