Its an interesting time of year. Some of us work in secret and thus would not get chemistry related presents; if thats you then tell us what you bought if anything of that nature.
I myself was gifted with a SS vacume asprirator and a face sheild among other items like clamps and HDPE storage bottles.

Latex gloves, new apron, new fire-extinguishing spray(apron was destroyed month ago by nitration mixture splatter and spray was used to put out one napalm test that went wrong), fuse, some electrical igniters. I'm so good stocked with chemicals that here wasn't single one that would be good as present for me.

Much sodium nitrite, much 5l+ sulphuric acid, fuming hydrochloroc acid, much sodium-, potassium-, calcium-, magensium and ammonium nitrate, aluminium powder, concentrated hydrogen peroxide, clacium hydroxide, copper sulphate, iron oxide, zink powder, and some other chemicals.
And a 30€ coupon for glas ware. I'm a lucky boy!

I didn't get anything in the way of chemicals or labware, mostly because of my parents' aversion to chemistry (especially that which goes boom). I got a pair of steel-toed Gripfasts and a Ken Onion Vapor from my dad, and a jumper cable/took kit from his girlfriend. I also got an electric tire pressure guage and some new speakers for my computer. I made out pretty good this year :D.

If only we could have a gift swap... There's quite a bit that I could use in small amounts that I haven't got, and lots that I have got that I don't need...
I don't do any chemistry, really, since I just don't have the space or the inclination to kill myself. Most of my toys are hardware and electronics. A funny incident lead to me getting a big disc cutter, and as I said in another thread, I treated myself to an arc welder. All the stuff I got from others wasn't really applicable - got the usual mildly insulting gift from my brother- but I guess aftershave burns, in an emergency!
I wanted to get a pistol, but things have conspired against me, so that is a way off now. Fortunately a friend treated himself to two new ones! Looking forward to that at the weekend. :)

"Out in a week" as in "Out of the house and living on my own" in a week?

Ok, just a swift update.
Take care with your new toys, as they can, especially if they are an upgrade, be a little more dangerous. They might just set you on fire, too.
But I'm alright, Jack. Shame about my trousers - seems the big cutter throws slightly bigger sparks, and, since it wasn't actually raining for once, my trousers, which were the only dry thing around, caught themselves aflame. On the first cut!
