I have installed and configured the new torrent tracker for The Forum. Hopefully this one will work a little better. I have not actually tested it yet because for the life of me I have nothing to share via a torrent right now. All the folders of the FTP are in the works of being offered via a torrent download.

Unfortunatly all uploaded torrents must use the Rogue Science tracker at http://www.roguesci.org/tt/announce.php
At such a time as outside torrents can be uploaded I will install the feature. For now all members are free to use the tracker to offer any torrent they wish. Please feel free to test it out by making a torrent using the tracker.

visit http://www.roguesci.org/tt/index.php to see it in action.

Great!

As soon as someone puts up a .torrent, I will fiddle around and try to get it down. I can seed it for a while without trouble, too, except my proxy seems to be acting up (NAT error?)

Any idea when new torrents will start? Like many others I have a broadband connection and am waiting to seed the torrents. I've tried the explosive directory, but nothing has ever showed up. Anyone else seeding it?

Any idea when the weapon directory will be out. Got a brand new machine shop can't wait to try out.

Sonnabitch, the thing is totally fried. I didn't even touch it. How did torrents ever get popular if all the trackers are so buggy?

Because you can pull down a 3.7Gb file in 48 hours!

I tried to email you a while back about my name change, and to tell you the torrent wasn't working, but it bounced, due to it being a free email service I'm using. Are there any free email services that you let through, or should we just use the IM service on the boards now?

The bounce was:
<roguesci@roguesci.org>: host roguesci.org[66.220.22.162] said: 550-Message
rejected because smtp.latinmail.com [62.37.236.187] is blacklisted 550 at
bl.spamcop.net see Blocked - see
http://www.spamcop.net/bl.shtml?62.37.236.187 (in reply to RCPT TO command)

but Realtime Blackhole Lists are a crap way to manage spam, especially when so many people trying to talk to you are using these types of server.

I don't have anything to do with the email server, that is our hosts decision, and they don't seem to be able to handle email that well.

Oh well.

Perhaps having a freemail account for contacting site admin might be useful?

Are the instant message things going to stay on a while?
