What happens??

What exactly happens when MEKP manufacture temp rises above 10*C? I was making another batch of it just now, when I accidentally dumped too much HCl into the reaction, the temp spiked to around 23 degrees. I have it cooling in the freezer now, it has seperated into two layers, an MEK coloured layer on top, and a cloudy opaque one on the bottom. From what I have read, it will form a more unstable form of MEKP. But there is some conflicting info to this.
