Well, my friends and I were preparing for the 4th and we were looking to try something new so we decided to fill an estes engine 2/3 full of piccilo pete whistling powder, which is white and seems to burn well. So now I have a hefty firecracker built, I think. The problem is, ive never used this type of powder before, and I havent a clue what will happen. What do you think it will do?
A. Explode magnificintley
B. Burn
C. Whistle
D. Kill me in my sleep

Any help is apreciated.

A. Without the magnificent part, whistling compositions are usually just highly compressed perchlorate/benzoate based F/O mixtures, and when used in that fashion act like a shitty flash powder.

A) Explode

Whistle mix is much like an organic flash powder, but is less energetic.

Edit: Damn, Endotherm beat me to it.

As othes have already said, it should be A. My powder this year is almost entirely whistle mix from piccolo petes and whistling bottle rockets. I've head from many people that the piccolo petes work well and am using it myself this year. Hopefully later in the summer I can get chems to actually make my own powder...

Not sure whether endotherm already covered this, but whistle mix won't whistle unless pressed into a grain.

I think it will simply take off, as whistle mixes are in fact rocket propellants, because the sound is caused by rapid pressure boosts of hot gas produced by the whistle mix.
