I have a bit of this stuff available to me Potassium Iodate

It sounds interesting has anyone had any experience with it in flash comps?

"Violent reaction with aluminum, arsenic, carbon, copper, metals, sulphides, organic matter, phosphorus and sulphur"

I like the sounds of Sulphides/metals for my Zinc/KMnO4/S flash or just with a mix of Zinc/Sulphur

Also it appears Aluminum/Copper is singled out and not just bunched in with metals

My lab procedures requires it for Sodium Thiosulphate standardisation, it must be dried so I assume it is Hygroscopic and therefore a little unstable in powder mixes?

I take it I should not mix this with sulphur like chlorate?

Any requests for any particular reaction?
