I have read that NG can self-ignite, but under what conditions? Is it possible to produce NG in a way that makes spontaneous detonation impossible during storage?

Which primary explosives are safest to produce if you are a beginner?

Another question, a bit off topic: Will RDX, DDNP or PETN detonate if being shot at, with a 9 mm for instance? Curious since Boomer wrote that he shot at NG with an airgun without anything happening. Would NG have detonated if a larger calibre was used?

Read this (http://www.roguesci.org/theforum/showthread.php?t=2780) as well. The whole thing please.

I recommend you pay close attention to this one (http://www.roguesci.org/theforum/showpost.php?p=1066&postcount=9).

That should get you started, and probably answer your question (if you're around long enough to read it all)
