View Full Version : Lots of Torrents

I thought maybe now is the time to start a thread on torrents, since members seem to be discussing them more. They are great for huge files. Some of us are ripping websites that often go into multiple gigabytes and are no fun to upload to Rapidshare. Plus, torrents are free.

This thread is meant to be an analog to the Lots of Rapidshare Links thread. Of course, it probably won't grow quite as quickly. It is primarily for member created torrents, but if you find a good torrent in your searches, post it for everyone. Just make sure it is active.

For members making torrents, please seed it as much as possible at least until it gets going. Here is an excellent site on creating torrents:

http://torrentfreak.com/how-to-create-a-torrent/

I've created a small torrent of a ripped website as a test-bed for myself. This is my first torrent. I ripped the scratch-built AR-15 receiver site that someone posted in another thread.

http://www.geocities.com/elmgrove1765/project6/project6.html

I'm not sure how to attach a file to a post (my .torrent file) so I uploaded it to Rapidshare for now. The file is only 4 KB, and the site is rar'ed at around 2MB.

http://rapidshare.com/files/20906138/SBAR15Rr.rar.torrent.html

Try it out, I'll seed it for a while. If it goes smoothly, I have more ambitious torrents in mind. :D

Note to mods: If you feel this should be somewhere else, feel free to move it. I searched for a general torrent file thread and didn't find one (doesn't mean there isn't one, though).

There is already a thread like this http://www.roguesci.org/theforum/showthread.php?t=5388&highlight=lots+rapid+share+links
but it is getting kind of packed (18 pages) so a new one should be good

That thread was pretty much dedicated to Rapidshare links. Torrents are a whole different beast, so I thought they needed their own thread.

Most of those links are torrents, its cool I don't care (I don't know about anybody else though).

There seems to be some confusion. The majority of the Rapidshare links are to actual texts (or archives containing texts). I simply uploaded the .torrent file to Rapidshare for expedience. The .torrent file contains the tracker info so you can get the actual file (i.e., the ripped site in this case) off my system.

Download the .torrent file from Rapidshare. Then open it in your torrent client and start downloading. The .torrent file is not the actual file. It directs the torrent client through the trackers to my computer and back to yours (putting it very simply), so you can get the actual file.

Can somebody try this so I can see if it is working? It's a small file (2 megabytes) and shouldn't take long. It's completely safe. If you cannot get it to download, let me know.

UPDATE: Looks someone has successfully downloaded the file, so things should be a go. I'll work on some more torrents and post them here.

I have mirrored the Crucible Forum along with the Textbook of Bactriology. Their respective websites are:

http://xsorbit29.com/users5/crucible/
http://www.textbookofbacteriology.net/

I have created torrents for each and uploaded the torrent files (in a RAR archive) to Rapidshare.com:

http://rapidshare.com/files/21068302/torrents1.rar

Download the archive and open the torrents in your client.

I ripped the Textbook of Bactriology because there have been some recent and ongoing discussions about biological weapons. This site provides a good background with some more advance material as well.

The Crucible is self-explanatory.

UPDATE: I removed the above torrents and will be uploading them to Rapidshare tonight (10 hours or so). I have ripped a very large site and will be making a torrent out of it. It may be a day or two. I'll post it here and I'll leave the torrent active for a while. It's multiple gigabytes.

I ripped the Drug Forums Archive (the actual forums would have been too large):
http://www.drugs-forum.co.uk/index.php

I also ripped Chemistry Daily (the search function doesn't work on the rip):
http://www.chemistrydaily.com/

I rar'ed both sites and created torrent files. The torrent files are on Rapidshare.com:
http://rapidshare.com/files/21694928/Torrents2.rar

The huge site I am working on is going to take a bit longer. It is very large with a huge number of files, some of which are over 100 MB alone. No promises but I'll continue to work on it.

Ok, I'm running out of harddrive space and am currently backing up on DVD's. In the meantime, here is a nice torrent. It contains all the Scientific American mags in pdf from 1993 to 2006 plus the specials. Here is the page with the file:

If you haven't heard me before, I say again, to become a member of the Demonoid tracker. TMP and I still have our FTP's to fall back on, but its obviously much more practical to use BitTorrent networks for the sake of bandwidth. I recently told TMP that if there was to be a spike of users/downloads on our FTP's, downloads would be incredibly slow. But as for BT, they would get even faster speeds.

With the following searches, you can find MUCH stuff that has been posted on here, and a ton of extra stuff. There is many DVD image files of firearm documentaries and more that will really help out myself and TMP (bandwidth-wise) if you download from here.

Search "AGI"
http://www.demonoid.com/files/?category=0&subcategory=All&quality=All&seeded=0&external=2&query=AGI&uid=0&sort=

Member "Mark721888" (heh, I try to upload as much FTP stuff as I can on to here, and perhaps others should as well)
http://www.demonoid.com/files/?uid=771988&seeded=2

Member "PiratesInc" (a few good things in here)
http://www.demonoid.com/files/?uid=1396704&seeded=2

Now please note this is not a complete or final list of this, but just the major searches and members who have such material. I just put this out here as a "starter pack" for everyone. I understand how rare their invitation periods are (1-3 days/mo), and I have probably 3-4 invites left, so PM me if you need one, and I will send you one.

I was excited to see all the AGI stuff on there. One that really jumped out at me was the Milling Course. This is a extremely valuable torrent and should be downloaded by all interested. The Demonoid Page is:

http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/1249692/6535704/

If anyone lacks access to Demonoid I can up the .torrent file to Rapidshare.

If we could get the complete master gunsmithing course uploaded, I would be in heaven.

I've already converted every AGI armors course downloadable from Demonoid, to RealVideo format, and it's on the FTP.

I'll be moving it to my folder within the next day or two. :)

A member requested several of the AGI videos on Demonoid plus some extras. I've upped them to Rapidshare for non-demonoid members.

Now to the FTP!

Hello,

Its a shame but unfortunately I am not a member Demonoid. Always closed for registration whenever I check their site. And I don't know anyone who is already a member. I know they open the registration first days of the month but maybe I was not so lucky.

Is it possible if you upload "all" AGI and gunsmithing/combat training/tactical/etc. video torrents to RapidShare ?

I got some of them but some others are missing (like AGI Remington 870 video, Firearm Defense Shooting In Realistic Settings video, AGI Building The Fighting 870 video, HS2000 video)

I am already seeding whatever I have in hand and I will be glad if you can upload all AGI and related torrent files to RapidShare.

I prepared an MS Excel file with many links of Demonoid AGI videos. I can not reach them because I am not a member but maybe you can :

AGI Videos (http://rapidshare.com/files/50801894/AGI.xls.html)

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bugger,

Thanks a lot for your response !

I don't know what happened. Someone (probably admin), attached a note at the end of my message :
"Everyone remember that EXCEL files are commonly used to infect computers with macro viruses. NBK"

When I try to write a new message, it doesn't appear. Maybe its because I am a newcomer.

Here is the new file link :
Again excel file (no makro).
http://rapidshare.com/files/51204668/AGI.xls.html

I will be really glad if you find those torrent files.

Thanks again !

Why can't the links be exported in a format that doesn't have so many possibilities of a virus infection, like plain .TXT or .HTML?

And the link(s) were untouched by me, I just remind people of certain computing facts.
