For the most part, I enjoy video taping my charges when I detonate them for review later and just for kicks. Although I do not do this every time, I do it a good percentage of the time. So I thought I would share some of my videos and information about each one. If you guys have any you'd like to share, I would like to see them. I hope to record a few more AN/Fuel charges using different fuels and compare them, but thats for later. You'll have to excuse the poor sound quality of my camera, as it doesn't capture all the sound that well, causing the explosions to sound weeker than they were.

This one is 250g of an AN mixture detonated by .5g AP cap with a 40g APAN booster. I used 92% activated AN, 6% acetone, 1% AL 600 mesh and 1% MnO2. I add AL and MnO2 to all my AN charges to sensitize and add more blasting power. This was buried about 20cm under ground.

This was 200g of ANFO using the same method as above aside from the fuel.

This one is 100g of AN/Brush Cleaner (Containing MEK, toulene, methyl alcohol, Aliphatic Hydrocarbon and Isopropanol)I used the same method as above. It seemed to be the most brisant of the 4 I tested that day (not taped is my 100g charge of AN/Naptha Petroleum, which was also quite brisant).

This is 30g charge of APAN and a snowman, I thought it was funny...

This I actually just did about an hour ago. Its just 60g of KCLO4 and AL 600 mesh in a medicine bottle placed in a plastic bag with a rock. I thought it was k3WL though.

This one had to be put into pictures, because the video file was far too large. Its 500g of APAN (insane... I know) put underneath 7.5L of 87 octane gasoline. We were standing about 100m away and put a 1 min. fuse on it.

Thats it for now. I thought about puting this in the explosives section but I fear getting banned :D When I complete my project with the AN/Fuel mixtures, I will put that in the HE section... So post away guys.

Rbick,

There is a thread dedicated to videos and pictures:

Seems like a good post. I doubt NBK would ban you for it if you posted it in the thread above.

At any rate, nice pics and vids. Half Kilo of APAN?!

Always nice to see videos around.

I'm a little confused about the apparent power of these devices in relation to the amount of explosive you claimed was used...

The first videos were supposedly in the 100 gram range, which looked positively puny. Wheras the 30 gram charge completely disentegrated a snowman.

It's unfortunate that you weren't able to give us video footage of the charge you placed under the fuel tank. It looked Hollywood quality.

I can understand how they may seem puny due to the sound. But the AN charges were quite powerful and had thunderous report, almost knocked me on my ass. My camera sucks though  Here are some more pics of the craters from the AN charges. I'll try to get that gas tank charge on the net but I need a video edit program first.

200g Charge Crater (I started to fill the hole before I remembered to take the picture, but as you can see it threw up some big chunks of dirt.)

EDIT: Speaking of which, here is the video of the "gas tank" charge

That is great. I like the bangs.

One thing I noticed though- 87 Octane! That's weak isn't it? I'm surprised your cars move at all out there :P

Are you sure that was 200g of ANFO that detonated? Were you using nitromethane as your Fuel?

Yep it sure was. I wish I had some Nitromethane, but I'm kind low on funds right now. Just out of curiousity, what makes it look like Nitromethane?

I've heard a minimum charge for full ANFO detonation (Diesel ,etc) is about 450g. ANNM is usually used for smaller chages like what your's were.

The snowman was hillarious by the way.

Open explosions always look puny on tape. If your going to video tape it, you might as put it inside of something so you can see the pieces fly everywhere.

That snowman looked like it was hollow :D

Thanks for sharing!!!
