Search for "Bill Holmes, Home Workshop Guns for Defense and Resistance: The .22 Machine Pistol" scanned copies are floating around.

I read the book and the dimentions Holmes gives in it are ... let's say ... they could be a little better.
I've compared them with a .22LR dummy and the length is OK, BUT they are too large.

Your best bet is to make a cardboard mockup first of whatever it is you do.

The AR-7's mag isn't the best and is responsible for most of it's reliability problems, But give it a shot anyway and see.

I know that the main feed problem in this rifle is a magazine issue, that's why I want to make the magazines by myself, but I miss how wide they shoul be.

The base diameter of a .22 lr is 7.06 mm, so make it at least 7.2 and max. 7.3 mm inside. For the length go for about 25.60 mm to about 25.70 mm, overall length of the .22 lr is 25.40 mm. Just bend a small prototype and feel how cartridges feed.

Thank you. I'll try with these measures.
