Probably just a joke gun.
Cuz if the gun indeed work, the mechanism
will be awkward.

Those videos of the lawnmower getting killed are good. I thought that 75 rounds from an AK-47 would have caused visible damage to the mower, it hardly even moved. Still impressive though. Only just over 5 seconds of full auto fire, I bet the military would be very interested in the "unlimited-ammo" clips they have in films!
Anyone seen Charlie's Angels? Two guys with standard machine guns managed to put enough holes in a trailer home to make it disintergrate! They just have been firing for at least a minute! That has to be one of the worst films I have ever seen, I was going to write to the production company and demand two hours of my life back!

There's a site somewhere that dedicated to
firearm mishaps in various movies.
Things like 10 shot magnum revolver or a revolver that makes the sound of a semi-auto
slide cocking is pretty common.

In the movie Anaconda they have a bolt action, semi-auto rifle.

What do you mean? semi-auto bolt action? there is semi-auto with the bolt automaticly cylces, then there it bolt action where you have to manipulate the bolt to reload. I've never heard of a semi-auto bolt.

Check the last post in the long, original post Anthony made - they're referring to film mistakes.

However, you can have semi-auto/pump shotguns, which is kind of like a bolt-action/semi-auto rifle - you have the choice of semi-auto action or manual manipulation. However I've never seen a rifle in this combination, I believe it'd be impossible.

In fact, no, it's not impossible, you can turn the gas-system off on a rifle such as the FN FAL and cock/load the rifle. However, that's a straight pull really, not a bolt action.

You know what just infuriates me about movie gun effects is that everytime someone picks up a gun it makes a noise, a little "click" or "cha-chink" I've never had a weapon do that, unless it had a sling or loose magazine (AK-Types). Or even worse is when they run out of ammo (there are some movies where this happens) the slides don't slay open and they always cock their gun, that's pretty weak. I do think Arnies reproducing ammo belt in Commando was cool, in one seen it was twenty rounds long then he turns around and it's nearly dragging on the ground, I think his ammo was A-sexual or something self-replicating. On a differant subject in the Serbu video of the AK lawn mower shoot, I don't see many rounds hitting the mower a couple here and there but there's a lot of mud flying there should have been a few pieces flying I imagine. An awesome web video is of the IbisTek Viper and Cobra vehicles @ http://www.ibistek.com/security_vehicle.html these are impressive. There's a video of a full-auto glock 21 so it says, that's equally eye opening, I wish they would repeal or rewrite the 1986 Crime Bill so that some of the newer toys would be on the market.
