I know it has happened to me in the past where I want to post perhaps a cool link I found or something else, yet I think "it doesn't deserve it's own thread." Well here is the official thread. :)

For all posts that won't provoke a long discussion, or simply don't deserve it's own thread go here. If something ever turns into a discussion, I can always move the posts into its own new topic. And of course, please no newbies requesting files, and asking UTFSE-esque stupid questions.

And what is up with the bastards in Arefu? The townpeople are cowering in fear inside their homes because a gang is terrorizing them, their cattle got slaughtered, and now some boy is missing. I go on the quest to find the boy, and find he has taken up with a damn vampire cult that practices cannabilism and drinks human blood. They murdered the boys parents and had him locked in isolation while they brainwashed him into their cult.

I could not talk the leader into letting the boy go, the door is unpickable and unhackable, so I tried to pickpocket him knowing full well I would fail. He chaised after me and I smoked his ass. Then the half dozen of his followers all try to gang rape me at once, but the crimson flowed when I started lobbing gernades at them.

I get back to Arefu and the damn townspeople attack me too! What the hell?!? I'm the bad guy for killing those weirdos and the people turn on me after I freed them from the terror. I'm trying to keep my character good by upping my karma, but I lost a lot with all the murders and thievery.

Even though I failed the quest, I looted so much good equipment from the corpses of the gang that it was well worth it. Hehe, I scored a flame thrower, battle armor, recon armor, and the coolest weapon yet, the shishkebab, which is a propane powered flaming knife.

OK, it's not the coolest weapon, but it is a weapon I always use. It replaced my ripper, which is a chainsaw knife which is why I brought this story up because of the picture above... The fat man would be the coolest weapon. I looted it off a corpse of a Brotherhood of Steel knight right before this giant behometh attacked. The fat man fires mini nuke shells.

I actually missed the first shot, but as the saying goes: close only counts in horseshoes, handgrnades, and atomic bombs. Since the fat man does fire mini atomics, close was good enough to put the frak to the monster.

I love this game. Yesterday I got attacked by mercenaries because a contract is out on me for being "too good." Fortunatly for me a gang of super mutants attacked at the same time. By the time they got done killing each other only one merc was left, and he stepped on my landmine.

Oh the gore effects in this game are awsome. I remember the first time I casually dropped a grenade into a gaggle of raiders - hacked off limbs and severed heads went flying, blood spurting everywhere. Oh what fun!

The real thing, along with videos, it needs a more powerful motor. In the video where he cuts a door open it seems very underpowered. Battery life can't be all that great either...

It could certainly use a better motor. Hows about just taking a small chainsaw and equipping that? It would weight a lot, but I'm sure you could modify an existing chainsaw to do it. Besides, the whole thing (to me, anyways) isn't useful, just cool. It'd be too heavy to operate for too long, and gas is always a concern (the small one I used only had gas to run for 5 minuets at full throttle). But whatever. Its still awesome, but the question is, how can you get it to the set-up like Gears of War?

Hell, on a CW related note, yesterday I inhaled a load of Cl2 gas in chem class due to an accident. Some fool added KMnO4 soln to HCl thinking it was phenolphtalene... I was beside him doing a titration. I heard a 'What the FUCK!', was engulfed in the horrid gas, and then gasped, taking in a huge breath of the shit. Next I know I am coughing and wheezing and blinded. It cleared up after a while but for gods sake, its proof of why retards should not be allowed do chem.

Ah, Mega, Fallout 3 is AMAZING. My PC died when I put in the disk, I installed (it took over a hour) on halloween while off lighting fireworks. When I came back to start the game up the PC crashed (a blue screen) then it rebooted and had a black screen crash. I took out the disc and THEN the PC started up OK. So I am playing it on my friends PC, its AMAZING. In megaton I personally killed everyone I met, and back in the vault I somehow kept the BB gun (when you have to bail out its lying on a table near the bed) and shot Aminata's (sp? its the overseers daughter I am trying to name) father, the overseer, in the head using VATS. Somehow on the second shot it killed him! Brilliant stuff...

I have my character at a very high karma level. There is actually still plenty of wanton destruction this way, but I have to watch who I kill. I get more quests and dialog interactions, which is what I wanted from the game. If you start killing everything that moves you always have to look over your shoulder as everyone and their dog comes after you.

I decided to take the fight to the Talon company mercs rather than let them come at me at their leisure. I have been hunting down their outposts and putting the fuck to them where they live. These guys have an endless stream of good armor and weapons from which to repair my stuff to top condition.

I joined the “Regulators” recently, kinda like the old west marshals. Now I get a finger from the corpses of all evil doers to trade in for caps.

I also ended up slaughtering every one of the slavers in Paradise Falls. From the get go my karma was so high the bastards were one step away from slapping a collar around my neck. I got in by enslaving a former slaver turned prostitute who left the life. I figured she deserved it and I would not take a karma hit for sending her back to the fold.

I didn’t intend to attack them, but the whole time I was planning my strategy on how to do it. I did a test run just to see how they would react if I attacked them, and they gang raped me with a 20-1 shootout, all of them heavily armed and armored.

I pickpocketed a key to the slave pens by accident, I meant to talk to the guy but I was in sneak mode. After this I started the quest to free the child slaves. I talked to the head pimp/slaver and ended up blowing his despicable head off (bastard wanted 3000 caps for the kids, bah!). When I stepped outside, inexplicably, but predictably, the rest of the gang started shooting at me.

Alas, I walked out on the balcony of pimp daddy’s pad and most of them could not see me, let alone get a good shot. I had a perfect snipers perch from which to lay down the fuck one by one. I placed land mines inside the building leading up the stairs and hallway where the door to the balcony was to keep anyone from flanking me. Most of them hid in the slaver barricks, allowing me to change the odds in my favor. By the time I was done I gained an entire level (those slavers are 55xp each), a buttload of weapons and armor, lots of karma, and I completed the quest.

Freeing the kids gave me access to Little Lamplight, the kids town. Those little mouthy bastards are lucky you can’t kill kids in this game. I am sure the game developers made them annoying on purpose knowing they can’t be killed.

I now acquired Dog Meat and some crazy ghoul as followers. This game gets more hilarious the more I play :) Now I am off to enjoy some ice cold Nuka-Cola while hunting muties in the downtown DC ruins!

I'm the guy that nukes the town for the eccentric business man. I'm also pissed how in Fable 2 you as a child can be shot, but you can't do it to your kids.

The balance was just $25. I called up Mettler today and got them to email me a PDF of the 25 year old manual. I'm sure it works because I actually drove to pick it all up, and the guy demonstrated using it for me.

I'd never trust UPS to ship a fragile mechanical device like that.

Balances have to be specially locked down when travelling, but I imagine those old ones can tolerate it better than a newer electronic sensor. Of course the newer ones have been designed with the lockdown features in mind.

There are about four different parts of mine that are capable of being locked down. Unfortunately, I only knew of two of them.

I'm not terribly concerned about the unlocked parts because the drive back (300 miles, never trust the postal service) was all flat highway, and I'm a pretty smooth driver. When I got home nothing was broken or had fallen out of place.

The worst that will happen is that I just bring it to the university and get it calibrated.
