I just came up with the idea that those who can't film or take pics of their explosives might be able to record it on tape and post the file so that others may enjoy it.

I just recorded a 35g ANNM claymore detonating, the sound quality isn't the best but it delivers the message.

I now officially is very pissed off
since i last upploaded something to my homepage geoshities has changed allowed file extension to the following:

Upload failed. Could not upload the following files
35g ANNM claymore_by DBSP.zip

Note: valid file extensions include only .htm, .html, .gif, .jpg, and .txt

So I can't get it up right now. :(
Have you got any ideas of how to get the file up?
I've run out of ftp managers so I can't uppload it to the ftp, not untill tomorrow.
Unless I can mail it to someone that could uppload it to the ftp.

Anyway what do you think about the idea?

Thanks Xoo I'm a bit slow right now so I don't know what you mean. But I've mailed the file to you, can you put it on the ftp for me please.
I've got no ftp manager right now so I can't uppload it.

The claymore was made the "makeshift arsenal way"
wich means puttying bbs into a matchbox. The only thing different is that the shrappnell charge was a bit larger and the AP putty substituted for ANNM. I had it at the base of a large rock (about 2 cubic meters) and pointed at an old tree. The tree was very hard so it didn't do too much damage, but I wouldn't like to stand in the way of that claymore. I'll be doing more claymore tests in the future. I've tried a shaped charge once, I mmade a plastic cone out of an icecream package and fitted it into the bottom of a filmcan and filled it with AP. I had a standoff distance of about the diameter of the can. I sat it on an old sawcling (the thing that cuts the wood on large saws(not a chainsaw))(disc-shaped).
It cut a clear hole in the cling and about 13cm of ground.

About the file, just download a program called Camouflage (www.Camouflage.com) It'll hide the file exntension for you, and you'll be able to upload it, then other users simple use the program to un-camouflage.

A possible solution for your problem could be to rename or copy the pdf file to txt extension files in DOS mode. After the download it is simple to copy it back to pdf.

If the steel plate is behind the HE it is a tamper but if it is in front and only slightly concave it is an explosively formed projectile (EFP).Atleast in my community that is what is reffered to as.

I'm sure of that it was a complete detonation.
It tore two large pieses of rock of the big stone(about 1kg each) . I'm in scool right now so I havent got time now I'll post the rest when I get home.

edit: just got home, I'm thinking of making an improved version of the makesift claymore. I think you have to find a way to direct the shrapnell in a better way. Perhaps you could weld a thick box for the charge so that both the explosive and the shrapnell get directed in the right way.

Anyway what do you think about the sound idea?

Well I'd say your standoff distace is a bit to short since the hole is very large. When the standoff is perfect it would only make a small hole. Try using about the diameter of the cone as standoff.

I love your cat! :) I have a black and white cat who just had her 7 bithday wich was selebrated with "prinsesstårta", she loves that.
I spotted something in the burning HMTD pic that I recognise. I have a scale that looks exactly like that on in the pic, is it a soenhle?

Posting sounds is alright, but explosions are very visual events.

Changing extensions means that instead of being called "sound.zip", you call it "sound.txt". It doesn't affect the file at all.

Generally, you can use four times the weight of the explosive in fragments. Backing up the explosive with a solid object really doesn't have any effect if you're using a suitably powerful explosive. Though AP is rather weak for such use.

Try setting up some targets so you get an idea of how far the frags are going. Cardboard boxes and ballons come to mind.

Any fragments should have some weight to them. BBs are woefully underpowered at anything beyond a couple of yards. Military Claymores use steel balls in .30 caliber size.

Though a matchbox claymore would work quite well against cats and other small animals. Or point blank against a person (car seat or such).

Speaking of cats, while I was offline I had time to hunt down the local feral cats.

I got at least 6 confirmed kills, with several more probables. Used gun, electrified snare, and boot (to stomp). I stopped using the electric snare after the second cat because the smell of burnt fur and flesh was drawing flies.

Got pictures of my trophies too. Didn't skin 'em since I don't want the fleas that wild cats have in my house.

And my cats were going bonkers while I had them locked in the house to avoid them getting killed.

There's more that I have to kill later when the weather warms up a bit.

Instead of boxes or baloons use a few large sheets of styrofoam. Different sized sheets can be bought at hardware stores for quite cheap.

Well I've thought of welding a box in thick steel to use as a sodid base for the explosive. I might try something later today I get some spapare time. And if I can find any sutible shrapnell. Balls from ballbearings would be great since they are very hard and quite heavy.
A nother thing you could use is buckshot bullets (Pb) perhaps using 000 bucks, They are easy to find and quite cheap.

Xoo what did you order and what is it that you haven't got, the chems or not even a reply?

Ballbearings would be best. They can get a bit pricey if bought new, but you can buy old greasy ones from machine shops for cheap. Another good choice would be slingshot ammo.

Slingshot ammo is cheap and uniform. Nails are cheaper.

Buckshot is made of lead which will deform under the tremendous forces of an explosion in very unaerodynamic shapes.

I've bought styrofoam board for insulation. It's $13 for a 4x8' section at 2" thickness. Even then a strong breeze can break it. Cardboard boxes are free for the taking and can be humanoid in size and shape.

To xoo1246:

It's "shock" not "chock". As in "The shockwave from the explosion ripped the k3wls hand apart.".

To DBSP:

Shrapnel has only one "L", not two "LL" at the end.

Soundtrack for this post provide by Bjork All is full of love. Which is a really beautiful song, and a REALLY amazing video.

I've allways wondered how that was spelled, thanks. I've got no time today but tomorrow I'll do a shaped charge. I found a great wine bottle today when I was looking for something to use as a cone.
It's about 7cm in diameter and the cone in the bottom is about 3cm high. It was the best I could find. I cut the bottle using a "vinkelslip" I don't know what it's called in english but I'm shure that you know what it is, It's a thingy you use to cut and polish metall and it has a spinning either, cut or polishing round plate at the front. It's hard when you don't know the english word for it.

Anyway I need some help picking the target, I've got 2 things to choose from: 1. a metall plate about 4,5-5 mm thich and 2. a small railway track piese. It's not the large track but it's the same design, that piese would be attacked from the side the metall is about 10mm thich cast iron (Fe). I'll be using 200g ANNM.

Mega, why not reinstate the spell check ?

I allways found that a real handy thing when I wasn't sure about a word ...

Piese -> pieCe
and I assume the metal was a typo :-)

I think it's very important to use correct spelling to improve the ease of reading.
And i do know my spelling isn't all that good, no need to point that out, but I'm working on it !

I detonated that shaped charge about an hour ago. I decided to attach the railway thingy.

Target: downsized railway track attacked from the side where the metal was about 10mm thich.
Weapon: improvised wine bottle shaped charge with a diameter of 70mm the hight of the cone was 30mm.
Explosive: 200g ANNM (170g AN_34ml NM)with a 5g AP det.
Result: I was expecting only a hole, instead the whole shit was devided into fragments. At one of the pieces i saw the edge of the hole I estimate that it woulf have been about 40mm in diameter. I had a standoff distace of 1,5 times the diameter of the bottle, (about 100mm).

The sound was really nice, got it on tape :) . I've mailed the file to Xoo, could you host me again?

This thing saved my terribly booring day, I woke up with a tremendus hangover :( and I couldn't stand being awake so I went to bed again and when I woke up I did something to cheer me up. Ther's nothing that beats the adrennalin rush after getting you lungs compressed by the shockwave. :) I recomend you download the sound when it gets up, it's quite nice. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

I tried changing the extension but I still couldn't uppload it to geoshities so I downloaded a ftp manager and put it on the ftp.
It's in the upploads section.

"ftp://ewf:df447jh4@209.195.155.80:21/-=Uploads=-/200g ANNM shaped charge_by DBSP..zip"
Exclude the ""'s.

You'll probably have to copy/paste if you want it right away. Doesn't work? go to the ftp and download it there.

Edit: Got it right now??
