hell why not. I don't even know what that is but if it costs a lot and we can get it for free...go for it.

You didn't notice this: I had already started uploading ChemOffice 7.03 Ultra to Darkdontay's FTP. It would have been done soon, but you finished before I did because you seem to have a faster internet connection.

I noticed. It needed more files though and I thought that the uploader just didn't finish it.

I see, I forgot to say that my last post was adressed to Chaoslord.
Actually that doesnt matter anymore, because the upload got even done faster that way, but I'd feel better if my upload efforts had used someone

weird man...

i must need new glasses

anyways
i will continue to upload stuff
next is chemlab 5.13
then.. hell if i know

That isn't the trial version of ChemOffice is it? According to company propaganda that does not include either the digital version of the Merck Index 13th edition, the Biology pics stuff, or the ChemACX databases.

I used to beta test ChemOffice a few years and I never really liked it. It has all the power features though, IUPAC autonaming, NMR peak prediction, and a lot of other goodies in the ultra version. I believe it is the molecular modeler I didn't like. Compared to ChemWindow that is.

Speaking of which, does anybody have a full version of ChemWindow 6? I'll even take 5 if its out there. I have a few files that I can't use because they don't even have a free version anymore.

I just checked out what I think is the chemCAD homepage, and its in foreign (not in English). I wonder if the program is not in English as well? I am not so sure the majority of members will benefit from this program, but I will have to try it out and see. It is for chemical engineering setups and calculations.

As for ChemLab, I couldn't a find website. Does anyone know what it does?

Mega : I meant ChamCAD not ChemLab
and no I do not have the merck index (pity, i know)
i also have here

Chemlab v2.0d
ChemMaths v2.0
CHEMPOINT PROFESSIONAL v5.1.ANSI and UNICODE
ChemSW Chemsite version 3.01 Standard
Design II v8.34
Merriam-Webster's Medical Dictionary
Perry's Chemical Engineer's Handbook on CD-ROM
Axum7
Mathcad 2001i Professional
Mathlab 6.1
COMSOL FEMLAB V2.2
ADINA SYSTEM VERSION 7.4.2

all of them are complete (some are two cd's or more)
and fully functional
the rest of my software has to do with other things not chemistry

if anyone want some s**t just ask away
(i also have Lots of Cad applications)

PS : Mega : try out the chamdraw part
i also dislike the 3d modeler, just like the 2d one

Any idea on how to synthesise Pancuronium Bromide (Pavulon)

Does that look like the Vx gas components?
oh my.. i wonder how THOSE got there

P.S. (any one KNOW how so synth that CH3PCL2?)
DichloroMethylphosphine

I downloaded ChemOffice 7.01 with an update to 7.03. It only affects ChemDraw, but I don't know what it does exactly.

Chaoslord
June 25th, 2002, 09:59 AM
Hey!
and answer me about th CH3PCL2 or else i'l put anthrax in my next post!
hehe

where did u get the update Rd ?

Rhadon
June 25th, 2002, 10:41 AM
I downloaded both Chemoffice and the update in one file by eDonkey.

Chaoslord
June 25th, 2002, 11:06 AM
is the update itself a separate file?

how BIG is it?

Rhadon
June 25th, 2002, 01:37 PM
Yes, the "update" was just one separate file, the ChemDraw.exe file. Its size is 8.597.504 bytes.

Chaoslord
June 25th, 2002, 01:45 PM
Mhummm

Can u mail it to me?

my mail is chaoslord@netcabo.pt :)

has enough space

I'd be very interested in Perry's Chemical Engineer's Handbook, you think you could upload that?

Chaoslord
June 25th, 2002, 03:41 PM
Mac : Sure
it's around 400 Mbs

where shall i upload it then?

Rhadon
June 25th, 2002, 05:43 PM
I'd suggest that everything should be uploaded to the Forum FTP, so it's available for all members. I'll also do this with the ChemOffice Update, but - you guess it - this will take some time...

Yes, the forum ftp is the right place for it, maybe our HNO3-cooks can use some chem-eng infos, too :)

ChemCAD requires a crack to work. I uploaded it into its directory on the FTP.

Perry's Chemical Engineer's Handbook??? ( that book cost a LOT and it's too big to be called a handbook)

you need steam tables & properties?
I don't know if I can send Perry out anonymously, but depending what you need, you might find it in:
http://www.ciw.uni-karlsruhe.de/chem-eng.html

from chemLab to mathCad

i will upload the Perry's handbook to CTRL'sC FTP :)
it's about 260 Mbs
i will still compress it (i dont hope it to compress to much but...)

perry´s is great for chemical engineering. I sleep with it under my pillow:)

ChemCad I ocasionally use at work:) it is a flow-sheeting program, which means that you can build a chemical process with standard components, unit operations (distillation, reactors, heat exchangers , pumps, filters, centrifuges and many more)

its modelling a energy and material balance over each component and globally aswell.

Actually it is designated for industrial scale , but by altering the models you could probably use it for simulating for example Mega´s HNO3 synthesis.

Usefull is also the extensive thermodynamical library. Want to know at what temperature 70%H2SO4-20%KNO3-10%H2O boils at 23 mmHg? And the heat of vaporization? And the composition of the vapour formed? chemcad does the trick..

260mb??????? what's the files format?

mine is PDF files around 30, and the total size is 560mb

rikkitikkitavi: are you in a "tech" institution?

forgot to mention: in US, aspen and hySYS is a popular tools for a plant flowsheet etc, have you ever used those/has a copy of those

Frostfire :this is a PDF optimized version
so all pdf's + complete things are 260 Mbs
+/-
i will try to upload them tomorrow :)
my time is a WEEE bit limited

I work with chemical process development in a large private company in Sweden. That is all Im going to say...
chemcad and perrys is a few of the tools I need to do the job from a theoretical wiewpoint, sometimes it also involves in-site testing of ideas for improvment, taking samples for analysis, measuring flows, temperatures and pressures, as a few examples.

Perry is almost like the bible for a chemical engineer, regardless of country. It is just The Handbook.

Anyway, these software tools are quite useful. Especially CRC and Perrys. Chemcad will take a lot of time to master, basically you need some sort of chemical engineering education or eqivalent to fully grasp it. The modells used in simulation can be very complex and I havent myself "conquered" the program... we have a local expert for that...
