How to bug the wife

I want to know how to tape telephone conversations in my own house without the wife knowing I was wondering if you could use a Dictaphone mic just cut off the wires & wire them to certain coloured wires of the phone line or can someone tell me a way of doing it in the uk or do i need to buy something to do this if so can you tell me where to get it your help will be very appreciated CHEERS

just thought i'd tell you a law , in the EU
it is illegal to record somebody's phone conversations unless they know it is being recored , and or give their consent , which means that taped phone calls without a court order and or consent are not admissable in as evidence in a court of law or a civil court
