Rust

Ok about rust I was bored and didnt feel like doin my HW so I decided to look thru my chem book. Lookin thru it I found that you can make rust very easily by moistning steel wool. I was wondering if this would be good for thermit. It says the reacton should be complete in about 3 days. (Im sooo happy im takin chem this year im gonna ask the teacher if we are going to be doing any chemistry of explosives the teacher seems pretty cool so far)
