Yep:

1 furlong = 1/8 mile = 201 metres = 220 yards

1 fathom = 6 feet = 1.83 metres

1 league = 3 miles (or 2.937, depending on which source you trust) = 5280 yards = 24 furlongs = 4.827 kilometres

1 chain = 66 feet (surveying) = 22yds = 20.108m or 100 feet (engineering) = 33.3*yds = 30.46*m.

I love obscure imperial measurements :D

I couldn't agree with you less anthony, altho they may hold some historical value, I absolutely hate them.
Hardly any of those measures makes sense !!

I think everyone who uses those retarded measures should get out of the dark ages and get normalized!!!

I would be glad to get 100°= |_ (instead of 90° for a straight angle)
Now, I got both at school, just for making things complicated

I was taught metric at school and imperial at home, I use a combination of the two. I pick and choose units from each to suit the task at hand.

The reason I love obscure imperial units is because they are no longer used and no one understands them, making them nicely obtuse.

What's not to love about having "leagues per kilosecond" on your car's speedo???

Go metricise time! :p
